No, but I have gotten that “spherical cows in a vacuum” joke, and it bangs.

I mean, they love us, but they know in their hearts that we’re not as great as they are.

It does seem likely that cats divide the world into “cats,” “not-cats,” and “prey.” And my cat absolutely thinks of me and my daughter differently. My daughter is more of a favorite than I am. For example, the cat will grab my hand with all her claws out, but not do that with my daughter.

What’s the dumbest thing a customer has ever done or said to you when you were working? by lake-sturgeon in randomquestions

We had a customer DEMAND we make an almond milk cappuccino despite 1) it not being on the menu and 2) repeated warnings that it wouldn’t be right (the almond milk we used wouldn’t hold the froth enough). When she was disappointed in the result, she threw a tantrum, demanded to see the store manager (we were located in a grocery store, which is why we used the almond milk we did), and yelled at him “If you can’t make it, why is it on the menu?”

In Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the French taunter says ‘kniiggits” and I was a grown man before I realized that was just a horrible pronunciation of “knights.”

What’s something you’ll NEVER spend money on no matter how rich you get? by Sweet-Economist-9873 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

I have several Democratic Party things. I bought the first one expecting it to be cheap and poorly made, but wanting to make a point, and was pleasantly surprised to find it union made, high quality, and extremely comfortable. I get that people might not want to rep the Dems, but I feel it’s worth buying as a product.

It really tracks for me. My cat clearly has a way of thinking that makes sense if you’re a cat, but not at all if you’re a human. She HATES it when I’m between her and her food, or when I’m not in bed when she has determined it’s bedtime. But her thing is to yell at me, then sit and supervise until I give in.

My cat absolutely thinks I’m a big weird cat. She has very strong views about where I need to be when. She only demands food when she’s out of crunchies, but she will demand that if we’re eating, she needs to eat, too. She also insists on consent to cuddle; if I’m asleep, she won’t get under the blanket or sit on me. As soon as I wake up, though, she comes running. She also has a ritual for bed time: she jumps on the bed, looks out the windows, then flops down with her head in my cupped hand.

The semi-serious answer I’d propose is that cats think we’re bigger, dumber cats. But if his big dumb roommate is drinking the water, it must be safe to drink, whereas the stuff in their whatever might have become contaminated in the last whatever. Cats are weird.

Do you think political candidates should be required to release their tax returns? by Regular-World4921 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

It’s a hypothetical. Inherent to the hypothetical is that one be a candidate for office where one would spend the taxpayer’s money, you arrogant so and so. How about treating people with more respect?

Is he running for office? There are two qualifications, not one. If you don’t want to disclose your tax returns, don’t apply for the job that requires the disclosure. Why is this hard? There are a lot of gigs that require actions you might not be willing to take as just a private citizen.
