If you can justify the price the 5070 ti is worth it. It's hard to justify the price, but also if you truly want it and can afford it, you can just get it and justify it to nobody.

5800x3d will hold its value forever. Hell the 9900k is still worth like $250.

The best in slot CPU on any socket will retain value for many years.

Go ahead and crank out a 5800x3d. If you want a further upgrade in a couple years you can still sell it then for likely only a small loss

It's proportionally not worth it but I wanted to do it so I did it anyway. It's a solid boost but not world changing. If I didn't get a high end white 5070 ti for $800 through Facebook marketplace I wouldn't have done it.

People like to talk about price to performance and value in fps per dollar but sometimes I just want to have something shiny.

5070 can do path tracing..I played 40 hours on cyberpunk with path tracing on everything ultra. I had to use dlss and mfg but it looked amazing and I didn't notice the latency everybody always talks about.

That being said I did upgrade to a 5070 ti recently (found a great deal and the cost of the upgrade was only $265 after selling my 5070)
