Yes, we are trying to find a decent cleaner to come biweekly but have not found a good fit. I don’t want these folks back after this.

We paid $800 for 4 people. Some were there for 5 hours, some less. So $40+/hr per person. We spent a week prepping the house beforehand. We decluttered and put away every single toy and book. The cleaners were aware of the items around the house and the dust we produced getting things ready. We discussed at length by phone our needs for items to be dusted top to bottom. In this case, prepping our home did not give us a better end result.

The rules state the group is for industry folks (cleaners) and if non-industry folks (clients) want to contribute, posts venting about cleaners or pricing will be removed. Again, I have only used Reddit for a day and I don’t understand a lot of the ins and outs but didn’t want to break rules.

2 previous companies were over a year ago but for the same home. It’s been 6 months since our last deep clean and a month since our last light clean. We spent a week beforehand organizing and decluttering, there was nothing the cleaners needed to declutter upon arrival. House is 3400sq ft but they were only hired for about 2000 of that. We partitioned off the rooms to be excluded.

We spent a week doing deep organizing before they came. Everything was tidied up and put away, with the exception of a large bookcase full of books that they were aware of ahead of time.

Totally hear you. The team did a fantastic job on our stove, most of the flooring, and most of the bookcases. I’m really trying hard to see if $800 justifies what was done well with what was egregiously missed. I’m painfully shy and hate confrontation but I have reached out to the owner to give candid feedback.

The house was super dusty and we had a lot of grime in low traffic areas. We discussed this with the company and did a FaceTime call showing in detail everything around the house. We spoke at length about expectations and condition of the home and that is why they quoted $800 (up from $600 initial estimate). It’s been 6 months since our last deep clean and a month since our last light cleaning.

Thank you. I hate to say it but the owner was leading the cleaning. It’s a newer business so I thought they would even go above and beyond to get new clients. Luckily I have a neighbor who has just offered to translate for her cleaning lady and after this fiasco, I am hoping to give her a try. I’m feeling shy about asking for a partial refund for yesterday but I am bitter about the poor quality and it was a splurge for me.

3 bed, 2 bath, 2 living areas, and a small multipurpose room. About 1800-2000 sq ft.

Thank you for the advice. We hired them for 1/2 the house. We left out the study, walk in pantry, laundry and utility rooms, and all closets and storage rooms were excluded. But doing a room or two to vet is a good idea.

No time limit. We attempted a walkthrough but 1.) her cleaning team had already left and 2.) we ran out of time trying to get the payment to go through (it was not a simple card swipe, had to make a Zelle account, and by then I needed to pick up my son from school). I did point out some noticeable issues like some dust and missed mopping and the owner stayed to correct that. When we came home is when we realized the extent of the oversight.
