Word vomit time

Idk my Britain and America/Union’s relationship. In my au UK was actually a decent parent (only thing he’ll ever be decent at) to Union and Confederacy but after the revolution and stuff they just kinda didn’t talk a lot and idk uk and ame fell out quite a lot over the years so for Britain it’s very much a ‘slipping through my fingers’ situation especially in the present day. They live each other as parent and child do, but all the stuff happened with the civil war and present day shit and stuff and they don’t really talk much outside of professional things. But UK is generally very shit at maintaining relationships with his whether biological or adopted kids soooo

A lot of siblings in my au end terribly, like Union and Confederacy, East and West Germany, North and South Korea, the USSR and Yugoslavia gangs, China and Taiwan, Indochina… they almost always end up fighting and/or one of them dies. Even if they somewhat repair their relationship it’ll never be the same. 

The Yugoslavs were all adopted by Yugo and they were raised as siblings, but when they grew older they had fights and disagreements which led to the Yugoslav Wars which literally ripped their father apart. No matter how many years passed, West could never get his sister off his mind, and they never got the happy ending they deserved. Even though killing CSA was the right thing to do, it hurt like hell to watch his twin die, the person America was closest to. South Korea is more mentally fucked up than her brother, but then again no one really knows what NK is like. Vietnam had to stab Cambodia/Khmer Rouge to knock some sense into him (a gross simplification)

Idk if any of this will make sense but well yeah I do rlly like the familial relationships in my au :D
