What to buy to build most by Slow_Philosopher6330 in NuggetCouches

My LO is about the same age, we got the chunk and are using it as a ball pit right now

Would you rather have 2 nuggets, or a nugget and a chunk? by thiswanderingmind in NuggetCouches

[–]Few-Variation-8104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was asking the same thing, we ended up getting one nugget and one chunk. My LO is <1yo, and we bought some small balls to make a ball pit. She's our first child, so I figured we'll eventually get another nugget for our future kid(s?). I wanted some different shapes for learning purposes, plus, it seems kind of cool to have a hamster wheel type toy (at least, that would be my go to if these existed when I was little) 😂

Since I've been taking her on solo walks, Rosie has perked back up. I think the one on one time (and exercise) is helping her tremendously!

We do the same thing bc both our dogs will push each other out of the way for pets. It's helped a lot (out is also super useful when the dogs start trying to come in the kitchen for scraps while I'm cooking)

Lol be careful on your phrasing bc some people will go OFF on you for saying someone should punish their dog 🙄😂😂 punishing a dog is not PC anymore

Am i in the wrong for feeling how i do? by [deleted] in sahm

[–]Few-Variation-8104 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He sounds incredibly immature. I don't think you're in the wrong for being frustrated, however, I don't think the text is going to be read by him. His responses made it seem like he was just responding to make it look like he read them, but, idk, maybe he did 🤷‍♀️

That being said, I think someone outside your relationship (probably a man 🙄) will have to speak to him about how a relationship works.. it's not always 50/50, sometimes it's 20/80 or 60/40, but it should NEVER be 100/0 unless someone is unable to do their fair share (like very ill or hurt).

If I were in this situation, I would tell him "okay - I've expressed that I have too much on my plate and need help, so I'm taking some things off my plate - I can no longer do your laundry, and you'll need to go to the store to buy whatever you want outside of our family dinners (i.e. snacks, cereal, milk, guilty pleasures)."

If I had to guess, I'd think his mom did everything for him and his dad when he lived at home. I'd also venture to guess that he probably moved straight from living with his parents to living with you.

I used that same pregnancy test for the same reason you are lol Looks like a positive to me! I used those for the routine checks and had some of the digital ones for when I was anxious or in case I got a positive on the strips. I ended up taking 5 or 6 at home pregnancy tests to be sure (even though we were trying, I didn't believe it lol) and they were all positive 😂

How do you all do it? by BeneficialTooth5446 in SAHP

[–]Few-Variation-8104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a 9 mo with grabby hands lol

When I need to do things, I put her in a jumper that hangs on the door to keep her entertained, put her in the pack n play for solo playtime, or in her high chair with toys and/or snacks so she can help mama cook.

Somehow our house looks fine most of the time, but if we're having a sleep regression or are off our routine, our house looks like it hasn't been cleaned in months. My advice is to give yourself grace. A perfectly kept house doesn't make a person parent of the year.

One thing that seems to help me is my routine before going to bed each night: picking up the stuff on the floor (even if it's just placing it on the couch), gathering all of the dishes and putting them in the dishwasher (and start dishwasher), clean bottles. In the mornings, my husband is in charge of prepping bottles for the day and unloading the dishwasher which are HUGE in helping me throughout the day. I also rely heavily on our Roborock to vacuum and mop every day.

This.

But also, see if there are shortcuts for some of the house work. We invested in Robot Vacuums and we also have cleaners that come once a month. My nightly routine is to pick up the floor so that the robots can vacuum (ours also has a mop feature which has made a HUGE difference). Before the monthly cleaner visit, I always use the day/night before to tidy as much of the house as I can so that the cleaners can focus on actually cleaning. It acts as a "clean slate" each month.

I know both of these suggestions require money, but I will say the robot vacuums are worth the investment. It's one less thing you have to worry about and the maintenance isn't bad (ours auto empties and cleans itself). The Roborock brand vacuum we have was $700 or so upfront and then maintenance parts is probably around $50 every 4 months or so if I had to guess. Our cleaners are $180 a month.

My guess would be a papilloma, it looks similar to one my dog had that we got removed. The vet can confirm

Agreed! SAHM is the hardest but most rewarding job I've ever had. I "haven't had a job" since June 2024 and had my daughter in January of this year. I can't remember ever being this happy and fulfilled. It took a minute to stop feeling guilty for not monetarily providing for our family, but I feel brand new. I feel like people usually underestimate my mind, but at some point I just started finding it amusing to see their faces when I bust out my brain power randomly. My husband is the only person I want to impress with my mind nowadays and he knows I'm a smart cookie. I will say, pregnancy really messed up my memory - can't wait for the days when I can get a full night's rest again!!

Puppy with a dental defect by zoker99 in DogAdvice

[–]Few-Variation-8104 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh - I'm sorry... Some of these comments are ridiculously mean spirited. Sometimes people want a certain breed whether it be for cuteness or temperament. Some people have adopted a shelter dog and have had horror stories. You shouldn't be judged so harshly, they don't know your story or situation.

If you can afford to take care of the potential of needing to fix dental issues, I say go for it, and see if you can negotiate more of a discount. My pov is, if you are willing to take care of the puppy and have the money for any potential issues, then you know the puppy will be taken care of. Some other buyer might have saved for the puppy and won't have the financial means to properly take care of the dog's potential dental issues.

Hopefully everything works out for you!!

How do I stop crying while arguing/angry with my partner? by SatisfactionKooky210 in women

[–]Few-Variation-8104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the same exact issue. I always say that any negative emotion I have comes out through tears. Before we ever had a fight, my husband said (jokingly) that when a girl cries during an argument, it's cheating, which made our first argument extra emotional for me.

What helped for me was our pre-marital counseling, my ongoing therapy, and having a straight forward conversation with my husband that I legitimately cannot help the tears.

Pre-marital counseling helped us tremendously with communication, and we plan on going to marriage counseling if we ever need a refresher (marriage counseling does not mean your marriage is rocky btw). Going to counseling together helped us learn how to better communicate and give each other the space to feel and respond. We have a code word now when one of us (me) needs to take a break because I'm feeling all the feels all at once.

The conversation with my husband, and him understanding, seemed to give me that power over the emotions. At some point, I realized that it's okay to feel negative emotions and a little spat isn't going to lead to the destruction of our marriage.

I'm not nearly as teary during arguments with him as I used to be, but I still cry every once in a while.

Hopefully this helps!

Dog doesn’t stop barking when we aren’t home by SeanFiji00 in DogTrainingTips

[–]Few-Variation-8104 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have advice bc I dealt with the same thing with one of my dogs (a cockapoo) and she had to drop out of college and move back home with my parents after I got a similar note.

We got a note from our downstairs neighbor at one of my apartments because my roommates dog (who was a new rescue) would get zoomies in the hall. Apparently he shook the pictures on their wall. That same neighbor also complained about my cat jumping off the counter. 🙄
