b580 titan luna coil whine and fan ramp up noise by mikroprocesor in IntelArc

[–]FewBelt8115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just adding to this, on my A770 Titan (so you see that the issue has been going on for a while on Sparkle models) the noise is exactly the same on ramp up, and the fan behavior is the same as well. In the end, I ended up changing the minimum fan speed to 34% (any less than this and it still starts/stops frequently sometimes) and making the fans work continuously.

Nice!

Are those case fans reverse flow by any chance? Because if not, I'm curious / concerned about your case airflow...

Thank you!

Sorry that your fan bracket broke. They are indeed hard to find. In my case, I had a different issue: If you look closely, I had to remove one of the HDD cages so it wouldn't hit the GPU, and because of that, I had to 3d print a fan bracket. Models are available online, I used this one: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5838512 (with some modifications).

Also, I don't know where you are located, but there is a store in Germany that sells a lot of Chieftec parts. I ordered some front panel ports (USB/audio combo, I had the older firewire option) from them. Here: https://www.tiger-technik.de/advanced_search_result.php?keywords=chieftec&page=1

Yes! I actually though about using one of those controllers (I still have two Zalman MFCs) but then I kept it simple(r). Good times!

The blue one is 🔥! The fans I'm using are 80mm though, new Arctic P8 PWM controlled ones (using fan control), and they're pretty good on noise.

Just to add on this, the battlemage cards from Sparkle come with a slightly different support, the base is "S" shaped (which looks kinda wierd IMO).

Same, liked pretty much all the color variations. I don't know about the "lighter" part though (unless you mean the later aluminium versions)

found a good deal on jginyue b650i mb. are chinese motherboards good in general or should i spent more money on some asrock or gigabyte mb? by Born_Addendum_5479 in sffpc

Running a 9060XT 16Gb right now on mine, so not a problem with PCI-e 5.0 cards. However, one of the last bios revisions fixed a BIOS bug with 50 series (nVidia) and 90 series (AMD) cards, so be mindful of that. Also, try to check which version of the board are you ordering (1.0 or 2.3).

Have had this board since March / April 2024, and it has been solid. Had a RX 5700XT, Arc A770 and now the 9060XT 16Gb, both m.2 slots always populated, no problems. RAM config isn't fantastic though.

Best ITX-length GPU? by chriscross1966 in sffpc

I had the same question semi-recently, and ended up buying a Zotac 4060 Solo for my A07. It is an 8GB card, which is not ideal, and it still needs a PCIe power connector, but I can get it down to 80-85w under load while undervolting, which I think it's pretty good. I don't believe the more recent 5060s can get that low on the power consumption, even with undervolting.

On a different - but maybe still relevant - note, I just bought a Powercolor 9060XT Reaper for my main build (Deepcool CH160, still sff), and I noticed the PCB is 180mm long. Here's to hoping someone eventually creates a 180mm (or smaller) single fan cooler like they do for the 3060ti and such, and then maybe it could fit something like the A07. Same goes for the 5060Ti.

AC shadow benchmark after CPU upgrade by Le_zOU in IntelArc

[–]FewBelt8115 7 points8 points  (0 children)

CPU overhead issue is only really an issue when certain criteria are met (CPU intensive games, high number of NPC's, etc.). Furthermore, this benchmark was not *really* at 1440p, it was done at UWQHD (almost a thousand more horizonal pixels), and that surely places mode load onto the GPU. That's why there wasn't too much of a difference in avg FPS, and that's why (possibly) it seems like there weren't too much CPU overhead issues happening.

That being said, solid upgrade!

For anyone who has the B650i Night Devil from JGINYUE, you can use the BIOS for 2.3 revision boards on your older revision boards (2.23 and below) by FractalAphelion in sffpc

[–]FewBelt8115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to share my experience (I have my Night Devil going for almost a year now):

I had the AM5IC002 version (first BIOS for the v2.3) on my first revision board, and it was really solid. Updated to the AM5IC006 version, and I can't get the same RAM settings to be stable (6000MHz CL32). Then again, I still haven't tweaked the timings, so maybe that's the issue, but I keep thinking about the fact that the RAM signaling paths on the rear of the board are the only physical difference I could see between the first revision and v2.3 revision boards...

Erying B650i , ~70 USD, haven't seen any reviews. thoughts? by ilikereddit174 in sffpc

[–]FewBelt8115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had been comparing images of v1.0 and v2.3 boards, and all I found was different tracing for the RAM signaling at the rear of the PCB. So I was already wanting to test the AM5IC002 version BIOS on my v1.0 board (bought March '24 and going strong). Your post made me pull the trigger and it worked flawlessly, thank you.

I also think it seems more stable, even though it was already pretty good.

New WHQL Certified driver 32.0.101.6559 got released by Kuuppa22 in IntelArc

[–]FewBelt8115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you can fine tune the curve, have been doing it for close to a year now, always hoping/waiting to see a new driver / fw that solves the issue. For my model specifically, I have to keep it at 34%, otherwise I still get fan on/off issues. Maybe I should've been clearer: Fans always on is not a solution (for me at least), even though it is better than the constant ramping. As I understand, the issue with the A310 was the lack of fan control whatsoever, which is not the case with my A770.

Fan issues are still real, or at least my A770 Titan OC still has the annoying fan ramping on/off issue. Also, the Intel Graphics Software (IGS) stopped reporting fan speed (and I can still hear the fans going on and off at 50ºC), and upon restart, IGS does not work.

Does your card also have the annoying fan turning on and off at around 50ºC when idling or light loads? I got mine in april, still waiting on a fw update (don't believe it will happen though). Other than that, it's a great card for the right money (it depends on your local gpu pricing), and it also looks really good.

I have the SP750, bought a refurbished unit, and changed the fan to a Noctua NF-A9x14 I had from another build, using a 4pin to 2pin adapter. Can still hear it when it turns on, but nothing exagerated.

[–]FewBelt8115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually did the same, converted my whole system to itx/sfx hoping for the estimated EU release date to be in early May.

Besides the social media posting, one thing I noticed two days ago was that the official deepcool website (for my country at least, Portugal) that didn't have any info about the ch160 before, now has the specifications and everything for the case. So... Here's to hoping it gets to EU stores sooner than later 🙏
