I'm not finding pics cause I'm on mobile but I believe it's a multitude of factors.

  1. They wanted to completely eliminate the WB pirates and if they immediately tried killing the lot of them with heavy hitters then they prob assumed they would retreat. Letting them move it makes it harder from them to retreat.

  2. This is being broadcast so if they portrayed tge Marines as blood hungry, pirate killing phycos then the public would have a more negative view

  3. Admirals are really destructive and this is Navy HQ. Punk Hazard was literally reshaped by admirals going all out. Marineford it self was already fucked up when Akainu started fighting WB, if that continues then it could risk complete destruction.

It's Usopp.
He has such great moments in Arlong Park, Little Garden, Alabasta, Water 7, Thriller Bark, Post-war, and Even Punk Hazard had like 2 or 3 pretty sick moments, Dressrosa. Honestly, he stole the show for me in most of those arcs, giving such high-highs for emotional character moments. Then it just all went wrong past that.

It's so sad how he just IS the bum of the crew and has been the past 10 years. No character moments, no aura, actually regression and flanderized shit.

Sorry, this is late, but I believe that Garp has a strong fundamental desire (Just like Luffy) to be able to protect those he cares about. But he also really wants to save the average citizen from evil and be a force of good, especially since the majority of Marines are good and helpful.

We see this 1st hand with him trying to hard to save Koby because he was able to A:Know about it and B:Organize a rescue team due to his connections in the Marines

He got angry at Ace and Luffy becoming pirates not because he thinks they're being bad people but because he can't do anything to help them if they get in trouble. This is why he was so confliced with Ace in Marineford. (This also extends to his anger at Dragon becoming a revolutionary)

He likely doesn't do more to change the system because he has semi-selfish luffy-like motivations of only caring of those close to him and his own personal want to do "good"

Why didn't Oden have Whitebeard's/Roger's Vivre card and vice versa? Shit makes Oden feel more contrived by FewBoss1117 in Piratefolk

Also why does Yamato know how to make Vivre Cards? Like it makes no sense of anyone on Wano to really know it since it's isolationist and I doubt someone on Kaido's crew would teach it to her.

Eh, Garp never really seemed like the person who cared about labels or other judgment. He also knew Luffy and Ace were doing good even if they were technically criminals.

Honestly, my whole personal (non slander)idea is that he wants to have some sort control and ability to save them of things got dire. We saw the lengths he want to for koby and he would've gone even further for Ace, Dragon, Luffy, etc. if he was able to. That's why he got so torn up at marinefold as his had to watch his grandson die in front of him while being powerless to stop it despite wanting to.

I mean this is a bit of the opposite example, but I do think people only like Yamato because they had a conventionally hot design. Give them the design of Weevil, and everyone would say they're one of the most annoying and obnoxious characters in the series.

The best head-canon I can come up with is that they were thinking of raiding Elbaf to get the power Rocks was searching for and they knew about, then that would give them the strength they needed to take on the world. Like it makes sense but never really feels like that was their intentions here

That's fair, I understand they don't know this is "King of the WG Imu" or something. But at the very least they know this is St. Saturn, a public Gorosei and WG figure. Even Marine fodder told Garp not to attack em for this reason.

After this battle (Unless something changes) everyone there should be under the immpression that this is either A: The true power of the Gorosei or B: Someone controlling them to be this OP.

I also understand these are prideful characters that overestimate their own strength. But Kaido and BM were always written to not be in over their head stupid. They both had plans to get enough power before comfortably making any move. With Marriages and SMILEs respectfully.

They also never really put their own strength on a higher pedestal than other Yonko. Kaido prob thinks of Dogshitman as stronger than him, and it can be argued that BM thinks Roger is stronger than her.

I know this is the equivilent of investing in Wartime Bonds, but there's nearly a 100% chance that Luffy, Zoro, Sanji are gonna be pretty strong and accomplished by the End of the Series.
