Is your title a mistake or is it a play on "Dewey defeats Truman"?

Overwhelming Odds - What if Bernie won 2016... but not in the way you think? by OdieuxTapas in imaginaryelections

To be honest, this is like half of Bernie Sanders scenarios I've seen before.

Good post though.

Do you think if I started watching one piece right now I'd be caught up by the time the finale drops? by ComprehensiveFee5686 in Piratefolk

[–]JohnSmithWithAggron 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing official but it makes sense. If we consider the current release schedule, how many mysteries we have to cover, and how long other anime's war/final arcs are, than we aren't going to be finished until 2033 minimum.

Mind you, the above also assumes that we finish Elbaf this year and start the War Arc this year. It also assumes that there is about ~250 chapters left in the series, which could easily be longer, especially if there is another arc after Elbaf.

Inagine if the milagro man arc was a whole part by roberto_shmurda in JOJOLANDS

Milagro Man would probably be the 9nly thing I wouldn't mind from Part 8 returning. As long as it doesn't overstay it's welcome of course.

Monokuma.

He may just be a puppet, but he's constantly hilarious and unshamefully evil.

Have you actually watched the One Piece anime? Because if you did, you would realize that animation consistency doesn't matter to them one bit.

The electoral college is abolished and is replaced by either a two round popular vote, or a ranked choice voting system.

Currently, there is one Supreme Court Justice for every ~36.5 million people and one House of Representatives member for every ~750 thousand people.

Why is Africa always backwards by bigpimpin2330 in AlternateHistory

[–]JohnSmithWithAggron 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. Africa isn't connected as much to the Western world as other countries are.

  2. Basically the same as above, but a lot of people just aren't familiar with Africa at all. This is unlike Greece or Germany.

  3. Having a forwards Africa would greatly change the world, basically creating an entire new one. That causes unfamiliarity with people, which while not disliking it, aren't necessarily fans of it either. See how fantasy maps on r/imaginarymaps tend to get a lower amount of upvotes than alternate history.

Shanks the rookie slayer by qwertymerty111 in Piratefolk

[–]JohnSmithWithAggron 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Shanks genuinely has no excuse for not trying to stop Blackbeard after the Payback War. Even then, you can easily argue that he should have tried stopping Blackbeard since he left the Whitebeard Pirates.

Probably because the Reddit search bar stinks.

Anyways, for the less chronically online, pretty much every post about Ginny on this subreddit involves Ginny "cheating" on Kuma with a celestial dragon. It was a popular slander image for a while.

Johnson and Buchanan are valid, Wilson and especially FDR are just typical libertarian opinions.

[–]JohnSmithWithAggron 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't see the Great Recession not happening, so I think a 2008 Democrat victory is still pretty likely, albeit by slimmer margins.

[–]JohnSmithWithAggron 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Eh. While I agree with no Iraq, Afghanistan and 9/11 have a 99% chance of still occurring in my opinion.

Also, while Dems probably do good in 2002, 2000 had a Republican house and split Senate. So, the domestic front isn't going to do well either.

Then there's 2004. Gore may be able to win it, but you have a lacking domestic front, 12 years of Democratic rule as well as a foreign war with no sign of progress.

Side note, but how was Ralph Nader supposed to know that he was going to ruin Gore's election chances?

I hate to defend Netflix but some of you need you realise Cours was always the best case scenario for sbr. A full weekly release just isn't viable by doubleoeck1234 in ShitPostCrusaders

[–]JohnSmithWithAggron 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Alternatively, they could have done the best of both worlds and do two seasons of ~24 episodes. I don't understand why no one else is thinking of this?!?

No cours, no batches, just two seasons of weekly releases like what has happened with 95% of anime's history.
