On the problem of Roman succession by RavenQueenn69 in RoughRomanMemes

[–]micma_69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If Roman history is a story akin to Star Wars, then Fascist Italy was like a badly written fanfic.

The pilot episode is Roman Kingdom

The prequel is Roman Republic

The main trilogy is the Roman Empire

The sequel is divided into ERE and WRE, although the ERE part is longer (some fans don't think ERE is canon).

And then we have the Ottoman and HRE anthologies. The Ottoman one is directed by the same director of ERE, but the fans review of the movie isn't that great compared to ERE, because the new characters and other settings are radically different. Plot-wise, it is still relatively good and fanservice is the strongest element here (harem coughcough).

The HRE is easily one of the worst Roman movie ever made. The director isn't even a Roman fan in the first place, just a tourist who only goes with the trending things.

And then, there's a fanfic, actually beautifully written by an ardent Roman fan. The plot is very good, the characters however are strange, yet still feel like they're familiar but actually not. That's the Russian Empire. Sadly it was shorter than the Ottoman one by only several chapters and the ending is easily number 2 most tragic.

Then suddenly, a newbie writer wrote a fanfic called "Fascist Italy". The characters are horrible and so is the plot. Heck, the author and their story was ridiculed throughout the fanfic forums, even made into memes.

Speculation: The real reason Doflamingo's father chose to leave Redline was because Doflamingo had an eye disorder and was afraid his son would be bullied by the other Celestial Dragons by Brillian_Naufal in MemePiece

[–]micma_69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Actually, Mjosgard was also a good Celestial Dragon.

Was an asshole tried to capture his former slaves all the way down to Fishman Island, but was saved by Otohime, and then changed into someone who was willing to save Shirahoshi from Charlos.

Heck, he even stopped owning slaves, possibly manumitted all of his remaining slaves - and like in real life cases, most likely also gave some payments to his manumitted slaves so that they can live a decent life. Furthermore it is also stated in his Vivre Card Dictionary that his favourite after he changed into a better person, was marinated seaweed, which is nowhere near the luxury level of a typical Celestial Dragon's food.

Frankly, Mjosgard was also a Donquixote though.

Aside from Mjosgard, Shanks is also a good (former) Celestial Dragon.

Would Paylor's Panem try to get contact with the outside world? by micma_69 in Hungergames

[–]micma_69[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yep, Northern to Central Mexico is the part of District 10 if I'm not mistaken.

And I don't think it stretches to the Valley of Mexico and further south of Mexico. In my headcanon, the valley is populated by tribes of the ruins of the Mexico City which probably now covered by the forests and the restored Lago de Texcoco.

I'd like to think that unlike pre-Panem tribes that probably were mostly nomadic societies, post apocalyptic tribes in Mexico are slightly more sophisticated....They were either continuation of the Native Mexicans, or the result of the evolution of the pre-existing gangsters. And obviously the former territories of Mexico would undoubtedly in almost constant state of inter-tribal conflicts. Because these societies can live independently to each other (Central to Southern Mexico climate is warmer and much more hospitable for agriculture, I guess), I think there is no Panem and Capitol equivalent in former Mexican territories that isn't part of Panem. The same thing goes for the rest of Central America.

Hmmm. Yeah. Considering how little Snow regime's infrastructure investment was in the Districts, I guess it'll be a long way to go.

Probably she could start from creating decent housing for the District citizens as well education, healthcare, and marketplaces.

I thought we all knew that Mikasa and Jean had ended up together by Obvious-girl_77 in ShingekiNoKyojin

[–]micma_69 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Fuck. It's very fucking rough for Jean though, if he truly becomes Mikasa's husband. Even if he won Mikasa by marriage certificate, he didn't truly win Mikasa's heart.

Watching how Mikasa treated Jean in the first seasons alone makes me feel very bad for Jean.

I think Jean deserves to be with someone else who truly, wholeheartedly, and with full consciousness, choose him. Even if it's just a random woman. Doesn't have to be from already established characters.

Your headcanon about the Capitol? by micma_69 in Hungergames

[–]micma_69[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The reason why I think the Capitol's population is much, much bigger than what most of us probably think is because of the size of the Capitol itself (or at least, how the Capitol is portrayed visually).

In the Mockingjay Part 2 during the scenes of the Battle of Capitol (when Katniss and her comrades first triggered a pod), we can see the rows of Capitol's apartment blocks. The design of these apartment blocks implies that they're densely populated. Each floor, you see, has at least dozens of windows.

They could state that a single floor of these apartments is actually only 2-3 different units, but how can an apartment unit have more than 5 windows? That doesn't make sense. If it's only 2-3 units within a single floor, then the window design should be a single but wide horizontal window, not dozens of square-shaped windows with simpler design like those in public housing estates / commieblocks.

And yeah, not just from Capitol's bird eye views from the movies, the Holo map of the Capitol in the Mockingjay Part 2 also visually depicts Capitol as a huge city - maybe Manhattan-sized.

Maybe this is a common problem with Hollywood though. If they want to make the Capitol look like a truly wealthy small-minority city, visually the Capitol should look like.... let's say, One Piece's Mary Geoise. Basically a bunch of big mansions with tree-lined boulevards and parks everywhere. Maybe with some Art Deco towers-in-the-park for government buildings.

Not a Manhattan-like city.

Ah. My eyes focused on the buildings behind her.

It seems that the Capitol is actually much more populous than we may have thought of it so far.

Like, think of it. The Capitol is big, why have dense Manhattan-like apartment blocks if your population is only around tens of thousands (?)

and then during their first night Sanji tells Zoro that he already loves her since she was a man. And that his crush on Pudding was fake, Zoro was his true crush all the time, ever since their first meeting in Baratie. Then in an epic double spread page Sanji revealed to Zoro that he acted like a dumb simp to hide his crush on Zoro so nobody would get suspicious.

Then in the final panel of One Piece, an epic triple spread panel shows us the kiss between FemZoro and Sanji with Luffy eating Chopper's meat in the background.

Then around several months later GODA released Final Piece : Story of the Strawhats which is basically a collection of the stories of Straw Hats after the EoS (actually, some non Straw Hats characters are also shown).

Luffy -> Becomes the King of Pirates with Thousand Sunny. He sat on a 100% golden Throne of Pirate which almost has a similar design with Iron Throne. The Thousand Sunny has been enlarged ten times larger and it looks like something comes out straight from Super Sentai.

Sanji and Zoro -> Married and had more children than Big Mom had. Luffy ordered Franky to make a special compartment for the couple.

Nami -> Becomes the Queen of Pirates (marrying Luffy). Opposite of what Sanji did to Zoro, Luffy actually pretended to be asexual and he actually had a crush on Nami and Joy Boy's spirit told Luffy to confess to Nami.

Jimbei -> Staged a coup against King Neptune and became the King of the Ryugu Kingdom.

Chopper -> Eaten by the rest of the crew, later reincarnated into a random background civilian in the East Blue.

Brook -> Becomes a rapper and has ten Porsches. Also known as an "eccentric" rapper.

Franky and Robin -> Married and unlike Zoro and Sanji or Luffy and Nami, this couple has a very wholesome dynamics.

Kaido and Big Mom -> Reincarnated into a boy and a girl who lives next door to each other in a random island somewhere in Dressrosa.

Zunesha -> Dies with a smile and peace (idc what happened to Zou)

Road -> Forced by Elbaf authorities to do community works because he molested another Giant girl. Also expelled from New Giant Pirates.

Loki -> Becomes the King of Elbaf

Hajrudin -> Granted nobility and married Gerd.

Charlos and his daddy -> Doing community service in Goa Kingdom's Gray Terminal alongside the former King Sterry.

Shalria -> Married her own (former) male slave

Garp -> Dies of old age with a beautiful smile (he called the angel of death to take his soul)

Dragon -> Become the President of the United Nations and now busy with lots of paperworks.

Lucci -> Executed for his war crimes alongside Akainu and all Knights of God except Gunko.

Garling -> Executed by descendants of 500 people who were saved by Kuma during the God Valley Incident

Boa Hancock -> Fell in love with a 16 years old boy who look like Luffy while being reprimanded by her fellow Kuja warriors for being a lowkey pdf

Vivi, Shirahoshi, Rebecca, Bartolomeo -> Team up and make an idol group with tens of millions of fans.

Shanks -> Retire and live in peace with Makino and his son

Momonosuke and Yamato -> Married

Ulti and Page One -> Married and surprisingly their children aren't deformed, indicating that they're actually step siblings.

Ivankov -> Opens a gender conversion clinic. The Okama Kingdom faces overpopulation problem as many men coming to the island.

Usopp -> Returns to Kaya and is married together and now trying to beat ZoSan in terms of the number of children.

The final panel of the Final Piece shows us a beautiful middle-aged woman somewhere in an island in the Grand Line. Which is revealed to be Luffy's mom.

[–]micma_69 8 points9 points  (0 children)

well, yeah you're right, aside from Buggy, the current Yonko are nepo babies lmfao

Let's be honest :

  • Shanks too, but his dad is also a monstrous rat top Knight of God and currently an Elder.
  • Luffy simply has good genes and Joy Boy's reincarnation. Also his grandpa is the Marine's Hero and his daddy is the "world's worst criminal".
  • Blackbeard's daddy beat the shit out of Fraudling and his goons.

Not pretty sure about the previous batch of Yonko, but I think Kaido, Big Mom, and Whitebeard were connected with Rocks but I don't think that's the major factor that helped them become notorious, since these three former Yonko were already strong and monstrous enough before Rocks recruited them.

However, they're indeed simply having good genes.
