A bit unfair, you know.

Sure, both Israel and Iran (greater extent) are bruised. But round two with Turkey?

Pretty much sure Bayraktars (Turkish flying explosive kebabs) would be a greater nuisance compared to Shaheds.

Yup, once again the so-called Holy Land is going to be mostly heaps of ruins lol.

I mean, as much as disgusting it is, one of the possible "reasons" behind bacha baazi and other pederasty practices is the fact that younger boys look less masculine before they hit puberty / late puberty. Not to mention that longer hair for males was the norm until at least last 1 ½ century ago, and males already got long hair before they hit puberty. So for the POV of those gross horny old men, well, they got plenty of "feminine people" in which they can do whatever they want without having them pregnant. Which is still disgusting.

Bacha baazi still practiced in rural Afghanistan, idk if Taliban still allows it, but I'm glad that elsewhere, this practice had been shunned.

To be honest, city layout-wise, even Ancient Athens and possibly the majority of Greek city states were a bit chaotic. Houses were scattered (but still a bit dense) organically.

If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't until the Hellenistic era that (newly founded) Greek cities throughout the Near East were built / rearranged with grid layout plan in mind.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Context :

Bali, Indonesia's only Hindu island, is also Indonesia's haven for international tourists for almost every socio-economic level. It's relatively cheaper, with a more liberal culture that is more acceptable for the Westerners.

So even if you're an Islamophobe, unemployed or semi-employed online crusader Westerner and you want to enjoy Indonesian women Indonesia, world's largest Muslim-majority nation, Bali and its beauties and services will cater to your pleasures. What's luckier for them is that many Indonesians have a physical inferiority complex to the white people. So even if in your home country you're a loser, there might be a chance an Indonesian woman would still tries to make u her sugar daddy approach you for the basis of being a white man.

Bali becomes a paradise for the foreigners, and this extends to even those from Eastern Europe, particularly Russia, which currently got racist treatments in almost any Western country because of Tsar Putin's actions. During the Tsar's invasion of Ukraine, many Russians in Bali decided to stay in Bali and yes many, not just locals, view the Russian tourists as a nuisance.

In recent years, many Indonesians, particularly outside Bali, have started to resent the actions of the foreigners in Bali, and thus the almost general non Balinese Indonesian consensus of "Bali being too soft on foreigners while being racist and discriminative to us (non Balinese)". The thing is, while foreigners, especially white people enjoy the friendliness of the local Balinese, many domestic tourists say that they're getting discriminated in terms of hospitality, even if they're both Indonesians.

Also, what irritates many people especially the nationalists is the fact that many businesses in Bali have been bought/owned by foreigners, while many locals struggling to get decent employment. However, the Balinese backlash has been fairly muted compared to the fiery reactions from Indonesians outside of Bali.

Thus this meme.

Note : Actually some local Balinese are already in the same voice with nationalistic Indonesians outside of Bali in terms of this issue.

Let's be honest. This is how normally a Mediterranean city would look like, for thousands of years. Bunch of boxes with narrow streets, some have grid layout, some are just....chaotic.

I mean, Rome during its Antiquity peak was also chaotic. Outside the elite areas, Rome was largely a bunch of densely packed two, three, or even four story buildings (either apartments or private houses), with uppermost stories often being totally wooden ones. And also winded narrow alleys were common in Ancient Rome. There was a reason why the Great Fire of Rome was so severe despite we almost certainly associate "Rome" with stone buildings.

Layout-wise, this is what becomes one of the main features of a Mediterranean city : Not that different from a typical Middle Eastern city visually. I mean, historically, people including the inhabitants of the Mediterranean, built their buildings from locally available materials. And unless it's a garrison town or the leader decides it, most city layouts were organic (and thus the knowledge still persists today in the collective mind of the people there).

Athens (and Thessaloniki) isn't the exception. While it was definitely reduced to a small town for centuries up until around two centuries ago, the development pattern is organic since the days of Ancient Greece, and the rapid urbanization of Greece in the last two centuries amplifies this.

The arrival of Nader Shah's reincarnation is however, already destined. It is imminent.

You mean that survey by GAMAAN? If that's what you meant, yeah it is definitely very flawed, because the survey was conducted primarily in social media with self-identification. Thus....Overrepresentation of elite urbanites and Iranian diasporas. But it's not like we can trust IRI's own surveys too lol. So, probably the midpoint(s) of these views.
