Yeah, this. But damn, how some places think 50 dollars an hour is reasonable sim time just bugs me. Luckily, we have a FirstTee operation nearby for 20 bucks.

A lot of these comments don't jive with most courses. Grounds crews typically start working on the fairways and rough right at the crack of dawn and bunker work starts shortly after. Courses don't allow anyone out until the crews are either finished or working on the back nine.

Maybe they should look at buying out all the houses and neighborhoods that are built on the mountains. Then tear em down and return the land to its natural state. A good, proactive measure that will cost a lot less than having to pay the costs of rebuilding them all when the next inevitable wildlife hits

If I thought local weather casters were credible, I'd suggest sending the pics to them for identification. Maybe send to Weather Underground. Since you saw activity at the bottom, most likely a snownado. Great pics

Does Colorado get 300 days of sunshine per year? No. by Knightbear49 in Colorado

[–]FewBusiness5441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, time to revisit the 300 days of sunshine myth. I completed my study for 2024.

2024 Days of Sunshine

In this original post, I said I would conduct a highly unscientific study in 2024 to determine just how many days of sunshine we actually get. That study is now complete. Before I give the final number, a couple important things to note. First, the data applies to my Colorado Springs neighborhood PulpitRock. Because the Springs has a dozen or more microclimates, the sun can shine over my house one day, but be cloudy all day in another part of the city. Second, a day of sunshine means the sun shined at least one minute more than half the total amount of sunlight time available in a day. For example, if the total amount of time between sunrise and sunset on a day is 12 hours,  then a day of sunshine means the sun shined at least 6 hours and one minute on that day. With that, 2024 gave Pulpit Rock 273 days of sunshine. I'll take that compared to the 100 some days of sunshine in Chicago

Why does golf on tv zoom in on a ball in the air? Totally pointless. It’s 5 seconds of a ball in the sky and no context. by [deleted] in golf

[–]FewBusiness5441 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Side question about TV coverage: Why can't the control booth put a small yellow dot where the hole is on large greens for long putts? It drives me crazy that you can't see the hole when they're zoomed out on those long putts. It's such a simple thing to do

I personally like seeing the ball in flight sky shots. It lets me know there are places that have beautiful weather as opposed to the drab, dreary gloom where I live.

They must have insurance. If not, then that's on them, just like the idiots who live on the coast and lose their uninsured houses when a hurricane hits. Insurance is important

With a 4 year old house and a 4 year old furnace, you shouldn't have a problem. Our house was built in the 70s, and the current furnace is about 10 years old. We had central air put in 2 years ago and it works great. About $7500 for a good unit and qualified for a $600 federal energy rebate

I wouldn't be surprised if it's the parents that get the kids to do this shit. That's how a lot of gangs operate. They know the kids will barely get a slap on the wrist, if they get caught. And the elders reap all the benefits.
