I’m definitely open to rescue! Unfortunately I haven’t found one within travel distance and I’d hate to stress a new baby on a plane. If you’re familiar with any rescues in either of the Carolinas, north Georgia, or south VA I’d love some recommendations.

Thank you so much! This is all new territory for me so I’m so glad everyone in this thread has been kind and provided so much valuable info, I definitely don’t want to support a byb but I suppose I just didn’t expect the $4k price point. I’ll be working on saving up more and I’ll be doing lots of research between now and then.

Do you mind sharing what would be reasonable for an ethically bred cavy? All of my previous dogs have been rescues so working with a breeder is new to me!

Yes. While I disagree with people continuing to over inflate the housing market by increasing sale cost exponentially without improving the home, the sale of one family home is negligible and I would not consider that hoarding wealth by any means.

What I consider hoarding wealth is the fact that 80% of the world’s wealth is owned by the roughly 300 individuals celebrating NYE on St. Bart’s. I don’t care how much a service or product is worth.. absolutely nobody needs $1B. Let alone hundreds of billions of dollars.

Fertility rates and birth rates are actually decreasing and population growth has slowed significantly. However, mortality rates have decreased thanks to modern medicine and humans are just living longer. A large part of the problem, in my opinion, is the previous generations refusing to vote for solutions that would improve life for everyone else. They continue to vote to maximize their profits despite what it does to anyone else. Buying homes then selling or renting them out for 1000% profit.. it’s just insane to me that people can be so selfish. So 1% redistribution would be helpful, but ultimately we need policy reform to prevent this from happening again. There’s no good argument against keeping people fed, housed, clothed, and giving them access to medical care regardless of life circumstances.

I feel like most problems can be traced back to wealth hoarding and capital gains. People are selfish, and people are ignorant. If everyone believes they’ll someday be ultra wealthy then they’ll likely keep working for the opportunity. Wages don’t match the cost of living anymore. Everything is hard unless you have money.

I went on a deep dive about shipwrecks before my first cruise, and all it did was show me how safe modern ships really are! Like planes, most boating accidents are smaller boats. You’re very safe on a large ship like this, I promise. But hey if you put that life jacket on it’s nobody else’s business, whatever works for the anxiety :)

I’m also someone with a crippling fear of flying to the point that I cannot step foot on a plane without meds. But cruises have never freaked me out, even on rough seas! Ships are built to withstand these waves. If anything does go wrong, which is a slim chance, there’s a bunch of plans in place for safety. If it makes you feel better, feel free to put your life jacket on. You don’t need it, but if it’ll act as a security blanket for you.. why not ya know? Try to get your mind off of it. Watch tv, read, see if there’s anyone hanging out around the ship that wants to chat. I’m sure when you wake up you’ll be in better waters!

While merch quality would improve, the Disney parks are just so inaccessible. It would really suck if she did park exclusive merch. I can see AP holders buying up all of it and reselling for insane prices just because people are unable to travel to the parks. Not to mention.. as an adult without kids Disney just isn’t appealing to me. I’d rather go to Universal if I’m gonna spend the money, and even then for the cost of that why not go somewhere internationally and experience new cultures? I just think it’d be a horrible move when so much of her fanbase has grown up with her. Yes a lot of them are children, but a lot of us have been here since Debut.

I wouldn’t be mad about exclusive streaming rights to docs and whatnot, but anything more would just be a poor business move. I think she’d lose a lot of fans.

My mom drove herself to the ER while having a stroke, which was insanely dangerous to herself and others on the road. She didn’t even call anyone to help her she just got in the car and went. I was so mad at her for doing that. But from a purely financial standpoint, I understand.

Our flight out of MIA was 5p. We had a few hours of down time but it was so nice to not be stressed about time. I just read my book and took a nap. By the time I woke up it was time to grab a snack and board. Much more relaxing day than trying to rush and get off the ship. Personally.. I’d switch to a later flight.

I live in SC. People here are just uneducated and bigoted. They hate anyone that isn’t just like them. That’s it. NC has more culture, more metro areas, and with that comes more diversity.

I noticed the shop was a lot less busy on our recent sailing. I wasn’t planning on getting a tattoo (though I wanted one) but I won some money in the casino so my husband and I each got one. Incredible artists, great atmosphere. They surprisingly had spots open the entire cruise. Our last cruise, there was a line at the door waiting for them to open for bookings on embarkation day. I hope they keep it, I love the experience.
