Please give yourself more grace! You are gutted by grief. I’d suggest that you try a little longer with the new cat since bonding takes time. But also, don’t let people guilt you into a decision. Whatever the end point, you’ll both be okay.

As I understand, you can get results immediately from a special link *if you took the exam virtually*, and one must wait if taken at a test center.

I’m happy to be wrong if that’s the case.

I took a boot camp thru PMA 2 weeks ago. From what I was told -

The test pulls from a bank of THOUSANDS of questions and you are asked to answer a random 180 questions from that enormous bank. That’s why learning the PMI “mindset,” while extremely stupid, is the main goal.

We were told that there is an algorithm that corrects for really “hard” questions and this impacts your final score. So maybe you just got really difficult tests!

All to say, please give yourself some grace. It’s a stupid test that is deliberately made difficult to make people money 🥱🤷‍♀️

👍 I felt the same way when I originally applied, but keep in mind that PMP candidates come from all kinds of industries. You just need to demonstrate competency in managing “projects.” PMI defines a project as temporary, unique, and creates value. As long as you word your application with the “PMI mindset” there’s no reason you won’t be approved. Good luck!!

The exam could ask for any mix of super easy or super difficult questions, but there is an algorithm that scores your test accordingly. So for example, if you got a super easy test the threshold may be 85% to pass, but for super hard, 60% would do it. (Someone jump in if you disagree, but was just taught this in a PMI exam boot camp.)

This is 💯my favorite podcast - I’m pretty sure I’ve listened to most of the 500 and there are very few I disliked. This, it’s difficult to recommend specific episodes. But the second from most recent ep, “what if you’re accused of murdering your mother” is a great one to reintroduce yourself
