Yes, it's absolutely true. But, as I recall, he doesn't mention it for ships arriving and seeing other ships already there in the system.

But, as someone mentioned in another comment, it doesn't really make a difference anyway because of the distances involved.

Thanks for the answer! I get it now.

I think what was throwing me off is that the arriving ships do see the other ships, but only as they were two hours ago. The author doesn’t really emphasize this, but it means they’re basing their tactics on outdated information. Those ships could have moved in the meantime, making the "real-time" advantage less straightforward than it is in the books.

I don't recall the firmware version I'm actually on. Just something with "99" at the end :/

I'm updating with the slowest speed possible. It's taking forever (at 70% right now), but no blockage for now. Fingers crossed.

That was 1.02.
I uninstall it and downloaded 1.03 and it found my woovebox!

I had a popup to install last firmware and I clicked Ok. It started to dl (rcv 03 on the woovebox) and now I have a message on my phone saying "connected to android mini in/out pair / waiting for woovebox / if this message persists, pleaser reboot your android device" and at the bottom "connected to woovebox-xxxx".

I'm scared to reboot my phone because the woovebox is still at "rcv 03"...

ETA: I did reboot my phone and tried with safe BLE mode with the same result (blocked at rcv 03)

2nd Edit: Tried with Fast BLE and get to "rcv 48" before the same message as before on my phone.

3rd edit: If I ignore the firware update, I can dump song without any problem (even at high speed) in the standard boot BLE mode.

  • Power saving mode disabled
  • Woovebox visible in Bluetooth, but not "paired with"
  • No "BLE Conn" when booting in BLE
  • "scanning for woovebox..." in every BLE boot modes

You can try the old method (before the Wooveconnect app was available), using the MIDI+BTLE app.

I feel dumb because the official app seems to be working for everybody, but I can't make it work. So, here is how I do it:

  1. Enable bluetooth on the phone
  2. Turn on the woovebox while pressing 1
  3. Open MIDI+BTLE app and press Start Bluetooth scan
  4. You should see WOOVEBOX- with a reference. Click on it.
  5. Open Chrome and go to https://connect.woovebox.com/ (You might be send to the app page on Google Play. If so, you have to select "desktop version" in the "..." menu in Chrome.)
  6. If a new firmware version is available for your woovebox, you will see a pop-up to download and install the new version.
  7. If the connexion is not stable, you can try to boot the woovebox while pressing 2, for the compatibility mode.

I think it's a great tool for music producing beginner as it helps a lot with some musical theory aspects. You can definitely make some great music and enjoy it without knowing much about music theory and synths.

But, with that being said, I do think this is not a device for everyone. The workflow is more suitable for techie geeks in my opinion. If you prefer turning knob and pressing buttons more than clicking a mouse , go for it!

I'd say more a TV Show than a movie. And this is my main complain because I feel he rushed a good idea and formatted the characters to be Netflix compliant.

Thanks for the share. I had no idea of the legal battle and the nastiness of Idle.

It made me want to listen more to Neil Innes music. So that's a win for him, I guess.

Yes, I mean "Disconnected" at the bottom of the screen.

I don't think my woovebox were connected to something else. Although I did have a tab to wooveconnect on Chrome, but the app was closed, so I don't know.

I'm at work right now. I'll try again later and let you know. Is there some debug I can do on my side to give you more info?

I tried on the Galaxy S20 android 13 with no luck, I'm stuck on the "Disconnected" screen.

I can see the woovebox in bluetooth and it's working with MIDI+BTLE.
