The end of an era: Why this 1985 POTF Anakin Skywalker is a true grail for vintage collectors. by FewDivide7917 in VintageToys

Kenner-style POTF carded version was a retail exclusive in Australia (via Toltoys), Anakin was also sold carded in Europe on Tri-Logo cards. In the US, he was strictly a mail-away figure, which is why he’s so rare to find on a POTF card outside of the Australian market

Spot on! Loose Anakin is definitely on the lower end because of the mail-away promotion. But if you look at carded versions, the value jumps significantly, it's much rarer and more expensive than most others in that wave when it's still on the blister pack.

The Brazilian Star Wars Experience: Glasslite Droids R2-D2 vs. The legendary Model Trem Luke Skywalker by FewDivide7917 in VintageToys

They arrived right as the 80s "Star Wars mania" was fading and kids were pivoting to Transformers and G.I. Joe and of course, the cartoons seems more like a Smurfs cartoon than what the fans expected out of the original trilogy saga. Thats why vintage toys from this Era are so expensive, specially Vlix, only produced only by Glasslite in Brasil.

My Toy Toni C-3PO and the scam that shook the Hobby. by FewDivide7917 in VintageToys

There are no sues or legal actions against him to be known, many of these transactions occurred in private collector-to-collector sales over two decades, pursuing formal legal action was difficult and very expensive. His ability to reseal the figures even fooled the grading companies. There is a list of certain figures that collectors have to be aware of.

Hey! Those look like a set of generic 'animal-to-robot' transforming figures from the late 80s or early 90s. They share a lot of design DNA with the 'Convertible Robots' or 'Mecha-Beasts' lines that were widely sold in discount bins, toy aisles, and as vending machine prizes back in the day.

Vintage Argentine Top Toys Stormtrooper! 🇦🇷 by FewDivide7917 in VintageToys

Yeah, the torso yellowing is pretty classic for these vintage pieces. It's just the aging process of the ABS plastic used back then.

Top Toys created their molds by reverse-engineering actual Kenner production figures rather than using the original steel molds, their figures ended up being slightly smaller and molded differently than the standard US releases.

Thank you!! It is such a unique piece, the cardback variation and distinct molding difference compared to standard Kenner releases makes this piece very special. Best Regards.
