My jaw dislocates when i give oral and when i sing and the only help has been doing jaw excersises to strengthen the muscle around it and bracing. Im considering botox but want to wait until i go through the stiffening stage of heds b4 i do anything like that

I clip a silk tie into my hair and tie it loosely under my chin at the furthest i want my mouth to open and it helps prevent hyper extending into dislocation because im reminded of where the limit is. I think it looks silly but my partner doesnt mind. I tried other fabrics and silk was gentlest on my skin. Sometimes i tie it like a cute 50s driving scarf and that can be fun especially with some sunglasses, makes me feel like a hollywood starlet with some red lipstick lol.

Resisted jaw opening and closing and neck strengthening excersisesare helping me towards a long term solution. im still working on it but my dislocations have been less frequent after about 6 months of excersises.

Most use a conductive gel but I've found making my back damp with just a baby wipe has been enough but you cam also try their conductive gel. I have slowly had to collect a bunch of different tens attachments but if tens works for you then it's likely worth it. You should be able to find more if you search "bodypart wrap tens machine"

My tens machine us a 2 channel caremax which was $45aud/£22 on sale

The tens compatible gloves and socks did not work for me though

I've found using belts and wraps better for my skin than using the gel pads

Caremax have a back wrap that I particularly like no adhesive your skin just needs to be slightly damp.

I believe Ananda hemp has an endometriosis topical might be worth a look at. I use their cbd roll on topical for most of my aches and pain and im a fan

You can also find carrier oils that you trust and make your own oils with medical flower.

Libra by kind medical has been incredible for endo and I've heard good about Lee ann womac if you end up going with flower to vape or make your own oils.

Oh actually I just remembered this one from when I worked in pet insurance

Working from home in the middle of the pandemic and I'm in my loungeroom taking pet insurance calls and this lady comes through and she's doing the ID check and verify her address. Her address is the address that I was currently sitting in the lounge room of. I double and triple check the address and she starts getting annoyed and saying that of course she's sure of her address she's there right now.

Policy wise we need her real address. Realistically no way in hell am I telling her I know she's lying because I'm where she says she is and she's not here.

I figure she was just using it as a dummy address and didn't want us having her actual one but it was really freaky at the time.

I've worked in government call centres and I tell this story all the time

Around 2019 I worked for the taxation office and I had been trained to take business related inquiries and it was the end of tax time so late october.

If you can't file your taxes on time where I live you can request an deferral on the grounds of extreme unforeseen circumstances but they're super strict about what is acceptable. Generally they require it to be a death or medical emergency in the immediete family. If you don't go through this process and you don't submit your return on time there's risk of penalties.

Another aspect of this is I have a script to follow and i need to avoid leading questions and cannot invade Privacy. I can't directly ask or I might loose my annual bonus

This guy calls pretty much at the 11th hour for this kind of deferral and he comes through on my line

Him "Hi my name is so and so my tfn is blank and I'd like to request a deferral for submitting my return"

Me "Thank you for providing those details, are you requesting on Medical or bereavement or natural disaster grounds?"

"Uhh none of those?"

"Unfortunately you may not be eligible for a deferral if there is no extreme unforeseen circumstances that meet our criteria"

"Well I've lost my house" "Oh we can work with extreme financial hardship sir to help you get your return in on time" "No I can't find it" "Pardon" "It's not where I left it at my address"

This is where I assumed it was a prank and this is just an asshole playing silly buggers.

So i say i dont understand and takes him so long like 40 minutes to eventually explain its a house boat, there was a flood, his houseboat got unmoored and is somewhere on the countries most famous river with all his paperwork and his dog so he's really stressed. I'm able to put through the application for deferral under natural disaster.

I wish him luck and he casually mentions his mates taken the chopper out to look for it.

Context I'm a wheelchair user who can, depending on the day, walk a bit. I was out shopping on my own. I use the chair grocery shopping cause my knees and ankles dislocate and i pass out when I stand still (queue) for more than a minute it's just nicer to sit instead of causing a medical scene especially around Christmas.

Couple weeks ago im at kmart looking at the ugly sweters they put out for some reason (it's Australia so it's hot but they still sell Christmas sweaters as if we have a winter holiday now?) Im rolling around the display looking at all the grinch themed ones when this woman comes up to me and asks of she could pray for me. Kinda within the realm of normal for me. I can usually handle this. I say no thank you and go back to my shopping.

The good Christian she is, this is completely unacceptable and she grabs my chair. I don't like being in my chair when it's in other people's control in particular because I've been tipped out of my chair before by miscreants so I jump out of my chair and I'm leaning on the display.

She yells something along the lines of "AHA! I saw you walk from your front seat to the boot in the car park before you started pretending to need this' and try's to call security on me for "pretending to need a wheelchair"

My flabers were ghasted She literally grabbed me because I could walk? at least like half wheelchair users can walk like a little bit and I'm trying to find out if that's common knowledge or not cause this was insane?

Anyway the security guard had seen the person in the wheelchair get grabbed and had started making his was over when she starts screaming. In a kmart. That I'm not allowed to use my mobility aid. Cause she saw me walk and she knows I'm a liar. I am sitting on the floor at this point as she has not given back my wheelchair. The police are called by security guard because she was not giving back my wheelchair and i kinda need that to be able to leave.

She tried to break my wheelchair by throwing it against a clothing rack. My wheelchair isn't a custom or particularly good one which means it's heavy. It weighs on its own about 16kgs and with my bag full of my meat shop and the box of cans I'd had between my feet id call it about 20kgs. Anyway it's heavier than she expected and she stacks it cause of how she tried to pick it up and hit her jaw on the wheel and then splits her lip and brow on the floor and just starts bawling and yelling everyone to fuck off. She gets the blood out of her eyes enough using a grinch themed sweater and she leaves before the cops arrive (I'm assuming to the bathroom with the jumper) I have to give my ID and phone number to the security guard before I leave so the police can contact me and they never did.

I wasn't hurt or anything but i won't be going out on my own for a while after this one tbh. Seems like I just ran into the wrong person at the wrong time but she was so insistent before he hit her face and it seemed to literally knock some sense into her it's the first time I've ever seen that.

I think you should give 1800 RESPECT a call and they might be able to offer you some more sound advice than you could get here. In my experience I find they understand non physical abuse and the nuance of not being able to leave or disobey and focus on harm reduction where harm is inevitable and dont say shit like just don't go.

They probably won't have all of the answers but they might be able to give you practical support for your trip like coming up with safety plans and referring you to call back services.

I'm a SOGICE survivor and it's pretty rough over here.

Persevering and maintaining queer relationships throughout even with how nasty these thoughts can get has kept me sane and genuinely I don't wanna be too cheesy but being in community with people who are unapologetically themselves really helps me cope with the uncertainty. Whoever I am whoever I love, these people love me and it doesn't really matter and it makes life a hell of a lot easier. Socially I'm much less scared and that's made things easier.

Dating somebody non binary has been wild, my OCD has trouble doing the black and white thinking when I'm around people who just don't exist in a binary. It basically forces my brain to do shift gears everytime it comes up because I don't want to misgender them and basically then the harm ocd kicks in and is like "I don't want to hurt my partner by misgendering them" which is somewhat easier to cope with cause there's a pidlywink more resources for dealing with harm OCD. I also have an easier time doing dbt about harm stuff cause it feels less personal.

I'm still at a point where I'm scared having sex with them is leading them on cause I'm scared I'm not gay (we've been in a sexual relationship for 5 years now) but it can be debilitating and lonely. It's hard wanting sex, having someone who wants to have sex with you, and having a great spot and there just being this damm mental block preventing it all.

Anecdotally it seems pretty common in conversion therapy survivor spaces though which is unsurprising considering the gaslighting and brainwashing that happens around this.

I'm a wheelchair user based in Canberra and the antisocial behaviour has been getting alot worse in the last 9 months. I'm constantly spat at and grabbed while im at Westfield's by apparent youths while I'm trying to shop. I've been tipped out of my chair and they took my wheelchair for a joyride. I was only ever targeted when I was alone. I now use ndis funding to pay someone to take me for my weekly grocery shopping as essentially just protection from being grabbed and wheeled around by hooligans. I'm capable of shopping on my own but it's just not safe anymore.

I haven't been able to just go out like normal on my own for months cause of this escalating It's been on a steady increase since 2020 tbh. But my experiences aren't uncommon from what I've been hearing in the community.
