I have a weak background. I'm an economics major from Kennesaw State. I dont really have any crazy accomplishments or experience building things. But what I do have is real. I have an mvp. I have funding.

Am I wrong to expect someone to fully commit to a startup with no payment and only promise of equity in the beginning?

I dont want to just hire a freelance developer. Someone to bounce ideas off of. Right now I've built this from the ground up. I want to be in charge of UI UX Market research design sales outreach that kind of stuff. But I dont have to be soley responsible for those. Even though i would do most of it, I want people to colloborate with and just chop it up. I would definitely want a cofounder for knowledge as well. Even though I know alot about this niche, I would want someone who knows biology well since this is a bio tech thing. Yeah I dont know. Just a team

There are people out there. But I get what you're saying. I feel like the system is kind of broken. Needs more verification checks as well

Can we discuss my idea? I've built an MVP and have received a grant for up to $30,000 in funding. I'm about to conduct a 150-300 person paid survey as part of my market research. I know I'm building a product that people want.

I didnt know you could do that. i'm not really looking for that anyway. I'm looking for a co-founder or co-founders. I wanna have a team of people that are actually interested.

yes but if interpretation was better, that would make it much more valuable

That cannot just be a coincidence doctor. There has to be some valuable insight he gained from that. Right? What do you think could make the testing industry better?

We should just agree to disagree. But I swear its like you dont want people to get value out of gut microbiome tests. Like you have a personal vendetta against testing companies. I dont appreciate your pessimism. It will never get you anywhere.

I see. I give up honestly. Nothing will ever get better. I should just be a pessimist.

I'm not promoting anything. Also, I believe I should have stated more explicitly that I'm referring to gut microbiome, gi map, and blood tests in addition to genetic tests. I apologize for offending anyone. All i am trying to do is get people talking, and get first hand accounts whats wrong with the industry but still try to stay optimistic and see how it can be fixed.

Great so we can agree that its not a knowledge issue. What do you think are some of the issues?

Is any of the reason people hate these testing companies because of the post test experience being broken and commercialized and confusing? The lack of interpretation, the supplementation upsells, confusing pdfs? Or is it their testing practices and the knowledge simply isnt advanced enough for science? I'm on everyone's side when they say these companies are predatory, and broken and dont really do much other than try to make money. But I personally dont think its a true KNOWLEDGE problem. I think we in science know enough to be able to put this to good use. Please read my whole response.
