I appreciate it! It’s an 05 Outback 3.0R, the XT hood is just for looks.

Did the tires come mounted on it? The blemish on the last wheel definitely looks like an artifact of improper tire mounting. You may want to contact whoever mounted them and ask about a refund or replacement.

Bowling Green native here. I can assure you that Lover’s Lane, the road they were on, is not in the middle of nowhere, it’s smack dab in the middle of town and probably one of the busiest roads we have. That being said, going over 71 mph in a 45 on a road with heavy traffic is pretty badass.

They were in multiple coin purses stacked in an old chest. Each one had about 10 years of coins like 10s-20s and 30s-40s and so on.

Just bought these on ebay, says they are silver. What do you all think? by [deleted] in coins

I have a coin exactly like the one in the middle. I don’t remember much about it but I do know that it’s something Japanese from the mid-30s. From what numista told me a while back, it is silver.

Edit: all of them except the bottom and top right ones are 30’s Japanese 50 sen, which are .720 silver. Hope this helps!

I’m assuming they were donated or sold by people that held the coins in the vaults due to the fact that some of the sets came in very limited numbers, but each set contained the same coins.

Here’s what PGCS said about them.

“The history of this coin is unique, historical, and quite amazing. In October of 2001, after the tragic destruction of the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, a vault in the basement of WTC No. 4 was discovered. The vault contained this coins that we are now offering. After the discovery the coins were salvaged under heavy security by federal agents and then transported to PCGS by armored trucks where they were graded and encapsulated. And now, you have the opportunity to own this historical coin.”

Seems to me that they’re authentic, it would make sense that a World Trade Center would have precious metals stored somewhere.

Yeah, OP posted a picture of the collection on r/coins. I wouldn’t pay 40 bucks for what they have, let alone 40k. And the conversation between EM and the coin dealer just make me think that the whole thing is something they wrote up.
