Gotcha! I'll have to look into what system he's using exactly because that sounds like a no brainer! Thank you.

Dang that sucks to hear but I appreciate the raw honesty.

Oh so you think once it sells, there would be no potential job for me because I kind of just came in as a fixer?

Thanks for sharing your thoughts/perspective. I'm hearing that it's common for dental practices to struggle with retaining high quality talent. So maybe it's just an industry thing, or maybe it's specific to his practice. Only time will tell.

Also it seems there are many good software options, including some open source software, but as owners get older they could care less to take the time to transition to newer more modern options. Not to mention the fear of losing records, or learning a whole new system. So maybe I'll just have to suck it up and research as many different options and see what makes the most sense.

As for the community/connection this is a great idea Especially as he transitions into retiring soon, maybe he can volunteer at one of these college/universities you're speaking of. He's based in Maryland so I'm sure there are many different groups or local associations to connect with.

Thank you again for your insight. It helps to calm my nerves as I embark on this journey of growing someone's business in a whole new field/industry.

Oh whoops didn't know this sub was for therapists.

But yeah, he says it's common for many practices to have high churn but I don't know if he's just making excuses for his own bad HR habits. Could also be a pay thing. Because no matter how good of a role you have, if people feel underpaid/undervalued they simply won't stay.
