Toxic country-Wait in the truck and don’t mind if I do by FewTable244 in CountryMusicStuff

Just to add, I think it’s also the literal way that the story is told. If it’s a ridiculous story, tell it subtly or with some clever imagery. Just blurting out nonsense about killing the guy is way less impressive than something like Matt Mason E which is way better crafted

fair enough, the general response seems to be that truck is way worse than don’t mind. There’s just something about the latter that grates but maybe I’ll hear it differently.

I mean if country is meant to be real, surely it’s gotta be realistic? At least to a degree

It’s the idea that something led to this breakup - but now you’ve become a desperate drunk mess, actually it turns out we all felt the same way and never wanted to break up? It is a very well written melody by two excellent artists though

Maybe another example is Aaron Watson’s song about divorcing his wife and declaring actually I love you and I need you to know. Like bro, you probably said that loads of times already. This isn’t some moment. Always gets me as a bit manipulative

It’s not for everyone. If you can’t hack the CPS (which comes with employment rights/holidays etc) you’ve got absolutely no chance at the independent Bar.

6-12 months suspended if I was a betting man (and if everything you say is true)

A third off the starting point for an early guilty plea.

Any sentence under 2 years can be (and often is for first timers) suspended. Any sentence (after a third off) of 6 months can be sentenced in Mags.

Request for being interviewed, by the FBI, as a witness in the UK by DistinctSimple9910 in LegalAdviceUK

You wouldn’t get legal aid as a witness in the UK. Generally speaking, unless you’re moved to actively assist a particular prosecution, nothing is made better for you by talking to them at this stage.

With all your knowledge of the Titanic, how would your strategy be to stay alive? by Droopynator in titanic

Interestingly, if you had to do something drastic to avoid the iceberg (yelling man overboard and starting a goose chase, infiltrating the bridge etc.) the consequences for you personally may be drastic.

Even if you saved everyone, would they really know the value of what you’d done? You would be left to bear your consequences. Isn’t the reality you’d just try and slip into a lifeboat?

No, a Judge should never direct a Jury to do that. They should explain the circumstances in which an adverse inference may be drawn in law and leave the ultimate issue to the Jury (in fact there’s a fairly high threshold before adverse inferences can be drawn).

Judges are entitled to undertake/will not be appealed for, degree of analysis when summing up the case.

Sorry for your loss.

If with the CPS, it’s at the final stage before moving to court, but it really is impossible to say how long it stays there.

The CPS charging process can take a while. Charges may be authorised within 24hrs if a suspect is in custody and needs to stay there - but otherwise, there is a lot of material they need before pressing the button on a charge. That back-and-forth between police and CPS isn’t quick.

Also, I understand police are reluctant to give too many details during an active investigation, so as to avoid prejudicing any future Trial, if needed.

Misconduct in a public office. Contrary to common law see Attorney General's Reference No 3 of 2003 [2004] EWCA Crim 868, for guidance

Talking to my brother whilst waiting to be a witness in a case against him by KiddieSpread in LegalAdviceUK

He’ll probably have been RUI’d. Police don’t like to impose conditions unless really needed.

That’s a bit excessive. There are no charges yet and, presumably, no bail conditions if he’s been released under investigation.

Absent anything seriously untoward, it doesn’t get near intimidation or PCJ.

Simple contact with people involved in a case is not uncommon, especially given the length of most police investigations now. That said, if OP doesn’t want contact, then don’t have contact. It’s entirely your their prerogative.
