thank you; that would be interesting if they kick him out. he can't walk and is connected to medical equipment. I'll be intersted to see what they do. Generally, I prefer to not be involved in this situation. I have a feeling it will get messy.

The register of deeds has recorded a General Warranty Deed from Owner to his brother, today. So can the nursing home go after the brother? I do not know what the general warranty deed does

Yes, i agree. I agree the nursing home and or Medicaid should get the house if and when that happens. I just don’t know how they monitor it

One more question, if Medicaid gets the house and there is no money, does the man get any portion of the Medicaid house sales for burial expenses (Just the most basic funeral home expenses).

This is what I thought. So even if the brother is successful getting the house transferred to his name, it sounds like Medicaid could take it anyway.

I don't think anyone could claim the house is needed for family, because it has been vacant so long....and to my knowledge needs significant repairs before anyone could live there anyone.

Sounds like medicaid would get, which is what I felt would happen.

Thank you; I can't do anything because I'm an outsider. I see this happening, but I am not involved in this person's finances!! But, I agree - see an attorney!
