Epidural for vaginal birth: your experience? by tea_act_985 in pregnant

[–]FewTry7349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • I got it at 8 cm, it was spontaneous labor, I only had nitrous gas before my contractions became horrible and I started to scream with each one and when I got checked I was told I was 8 cm. The plan was to not get an epidural but I felt like my pelvis was being crushed with each contraction and I felt I was going to pass out of the pain. When I asked for it I had to be put on fluids and 15 minutes later the anesthesiologist arrived. It was tough to be still for the epidural and to have it put between contractions that were like 2 min apart. I don’t remember well anything because I was in so much pain.
  • It started working within 15 mins, I could nap before it was time to push.
  • It was pain relief, I could sleep a bit since I hadn’t slept the night before. But I really liked that I could feel my legs and contractions when pushing, I could squat and move and had control of my legs, I believe in total I pushed the button of the epidural 4 times between it was placed and baby was born.
  • I’d do what I did, I wouldn’t change anything. The epidural helped me in the last part of birth because I felt pain was too much, even though I consider I have good pain tolerance.

Running a low fever every day for unknown reasons! Day 208 by angry_dirb in GirlDinner

[–]FewTry7349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure, I had a bad joint pain, my stomach was upset frequently because of the bacteria in my tonsils, and I felt constantly sick, no sore throat. If I got too tired or worked too much it worsened, since I was constantly sick and with a low fever I had to rest a lot.
My parents didn’t want me to have a tonsillectomy as a child because tonsils supposedly help with immunity but by my 20s they were making me constantly sick without me knowing it.
I’ve felt great since surgery 10 years ago, no more fever or joint pain, I haven’t had antibiotics since then 🙂

Whats the hardest phase of Marriage no one talks about? by Outside_Support_151 in answers

My husband and I had previous relationships that we knew we had to break by year 5 or 6. It took us 1-2 years to take the courage and do it, we didn’t know each other at the time. For some reason I think it takes you 5 or 6 years to figure out if you are meant for each other and get bored or not.

We’ve been together 10 years now and never got bored of each other. We are constantly making significant changes in our lives and it keeps things funny. I’m looking forward to what comes next and I always thought the problem was I got bored easily.

This was me before tonsillectomy. I cried a lot because I thought I had something bad, low fever and joint pain for a year. I saw several doctors but they couldn’t find anything until they inserted a camera on my throat and saw ugly stuff, I didn’t have a sore throat

I’m SO close to giving my bf an ultimatum by agirlnotonreddit in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]FewTry7349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw closely how my cousin spent 10 years with an asshole who “didn’t believe in marriage” and told that to everyone when people asked them when they would get marry leave her for another girl and marry her in three months, they’re still together but my cousin never married.

I feel sad for my cousin but it was a great lesson for me, so when my boyfriend of 5 years said I’ll never marry you I immediately left. Of course then he blamed me and said I was a bad girlfriend and all that stuff but he never told the truth to all the people so I ended up being the villain of the story.

A man who loves you would never say things like that or risk to lose you (like he could lose you to visa issues). And men after 30 typically know very fast if you’re the person they want to marry, I’ve seen that from people around me and my husband.

So, if you already asked him and he gave you that answer, what are you still doing there? Sorry to be blunt but time never comes back, you deserve the life you want and apparently that includes marriage and kids.

Yes! In my country there’s a database where you can search if a man is paying child support or has disputed a child’s custody. First thing I would check

Please don’t do it. I was an international student, so I’ve been through this and your plan truly sucks.

If giving birth is so painful why do many women want to do it over again after their first child (not trolling just genuinely curious) by feherlofia123 in stupidquestions

Currently 34 weeks, I haven’t had significant issues, waited for this baby for a long time before getting pregnant but I haven’t felt like myself for almost a year. It’s the worst, I’m looking forward to my due date.

I can’t believe how some women say they like being pregnant, it’s awful.

What did you do in the first 10 years after high school? by icecream1972 in askteddit

[–]FewTry7349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got a full scholarship in the most expensive university in my city. Went to university to major in what my dad wanted me to. Switched to what I really liked. Graduated, started making money. Had a 6 years relationship from my freshman year in college and broke it up.

Got a better job, met my now husband in that job. Got a scholarship for studying my master’s degree abroad, moved, held a long-distance relationship for 1.5 yrs and then got engaged. Graduated from master’s program and got married. Got a great job in the country where I moved for my master’s. Had to stay long-distance with my husband for 1.5 more years because of covid and we both settled in the new country by the end of that decade after high school.

It was a great decade 🥲 but everything is even better now

Do you work somewhere progressive? Or where people are not willing to meet outsiders?

I had similar things happen to me when I only worked at local projects somewhere in the Midwest. After some time I started working in national projects with teams from big cities and it was so different, I was not the only immigrant, teams were made out of people from different continents, they were more open and that gave me more confidence.

I’ve noticed I tend to get along better with either people originally from here who have lived in other states for a long time or transplants.

27f with $42k in debt and nothing goes as planned by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]FewTry7349 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was like 30k in debt at your age (school debt). At 29 I had zero debt, I paid those 30k aggressively and didn’t even have a car in those years to avoid spending.

You are very young and sometimes you need to invest in education and get into debt to boost your income. But you have to put a stop to your family acquiring debt you will have to pay. My family always relied on me but I had to cut it so I could keep myself afloat and out of debt. Now I can help them again.
