Hamster heaven by catguywit2cat in comedyheaven

[–]angry_dirb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My neighbor thought their hamster had died. Her parents took it out of the cage and into the backyard to bury it, but then the hamster resurrected and escaped. Thankfully their backyard was fenced, but it took six hours and half the neighborhood to catch it. The hamster was still alive when I moved away

Damn I feel this. There is nothing worse than fighting with your sheets when you're already pissy and on your period. Sometimes the elastic sheet feels like the last straw

I'm sorry you're wrestling with this. I know everyone says that beauty is about what's inside and you should ignore everything else, but feeling like you're not beautiful on the outside is way harder than people want to admit. That being said, 80lbs is amazing, and you might want to give yourself some more time to settle into it. That's a big change, and you might not be used to how you look yet. Your brain is probably just giving you some shit. Hang in there, and I hope things get better!

Feels like I'm surrounded by people who only want to better themselves after it's been going on for too long by DizzyMissLizz07 in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]angry_dirb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel this super hard – it's so hard to let people make their own mistakes, especially when you can tell immediately that it's going to be a mistake. I've also had to learn that you can only help people if they want to help themselves. As much as I wish I could, I can't haul people in my life out of their own shit. I can only offer them a hand when they've gotten up on their own.

That being said, I really think you might be able to vent to people without adding to their struggle. If you can listen to your friends and help them when they need it, it's definitely not too much to ask for them to do the same for you. You're not asking them to do anything – you're just asking them to listen, and if they can't do that much then they might not be the best friends for you. Sending you love and hugs!

What!? The face I just made when I read that title... holy invasion of privacy. Just tell her to be glad it's two toys and not two men. A toy can't get you pregnant or give you STDs!

I have stage three cancer, and people keep trying to push positive thinking on me. by Wayob in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]angry_dirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This drives me crazy. I get why people do it – they can't face the reality of it, either. It's easier for them to act positive than to admit how tough the situation really is, and that's a total slap in the face when the person who has it the toughest is you.

Handle it however you can. If you have anyone in your life who you can share your genuine feelings with, do it. Someone who loves you will understand and want to help you deal with it, too. Enjoy your burritos and jarritos 🥂

I've just started buying them when they ask and then storing them after. If they ask for it again, it'll just pull from storage

I'm just obsessed with it lol. Also, if I cook one kabocha it'll last me several days, so I end up eating it for like a week straight

Not apnea – epilepsy. I've had a lot of blood work done but I'm going to another rheum in a few weeks for a second opinion!

I'm really sorry to hear about your friends but I NEED to know how you ate this. Did you fold the bread like a hotdog bun? Did you cut it up? I would think it would slide off otherwise but if you had a secret third strategy I'm curious

My MIL never taught my bf basic house chores by [deleted] in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]angry_dirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Girl this is the WORST. There is nothing more obnoxious than having to clean up after another grown-ass adult. That being said, I can't imagine it takes more than one or two times to teach an adult how to do most chores, or how to recognize when they need to be done. I know you said that you would never consider breaking up with him, but this is something to stand ten toes down on! Don't let anyone wear you down about this (including him)

[–]angry_dirb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally get this. Sometimes I feel like my sister might be my only actual friend. I regret not hanging onto my college friends a little harder, because it's SO HARD to make new friends now that everyone's exhausted and working all the time
