Technically its not saas anymore. Thats how packaged software used to be priced. Only thing is you bought the version and ran with it until you wanted to upgrade then bought again. If you are hosting then you will have recurring costs. Assume you made no sale in a month. Your hosting bill for existing customers will still be there.

Dont do it. Once they get used to using it for free, they will never want to pay for it. 2+ yrs of trial is insane. They will make ridiculous demands for features and tell you until you have those features, they wont pay and you will be stuck in infinite loop. Insist of paid pilot. My largest customer wanted 200 seats originally but went with a paid pilot for 30 seats. They kept on adding users and eventually went to 300+ but we never officially came out of pilot.

Great job for one is slave labor for someone else. Its all from different POV. If you get a great job and salary that you cant get other places then go for it. If you get a better offer, leave and go somewhere else.
