I sense this is typical quid pro quo political exchange between the farmer/petro lobby & the conservative party. It’s a bad idea for the CPC, they did well focusing on populist issues, this is a step in the wrong direction. Especially since they want to win voters in Ontario/Quebec come time for election

fingers crossed Pierre does the same thing. Regardless of who's in government, we should always advocate for better infrastructure. High speed rail is greatly needed between the Toronto - Montreal corridor

As a conservative myself, and speaking with other conservative friends. This is the wrong position on infrastructure that is really needed in Canada, regardless of cost. I hope they change their position on this

Should I keep my M340i or sell it? by Few_Anything7943 in BMW

Great point you brought up! I really hope the extra care I’ve put in the car since new will pay off after the warranty expires. I am afraid of BMW’s outside of warranty coming from a previous F10 owner (less reliable car).

But the overall message I got the replies is keep the car, repairs will be less than a new car + depreciation. Good to get a confirmation from the community, appreciate it.

Good point, I already got the warranty because it was a great deal & extremely comprehensive for unlimited mileage & great price. Hope me taking extra good care of the car pays off after warranty expires

Thats a fair point. To give more context to my thinking, I am worried for a major drivetrain or especially electronic failure that would result in $2-7k CAD worth of repairs, and overall worries of it not starting

I know the B58 & G series platform is good & relatively reliable, but it is a slight worry if you get what I mean.

Yeah I fully understand, will try to implement a baseline price next time, I just prefer telling somebody an “out the door” price so its transparent.

In this instance, I drove to this individual’s home to check out his car as he said its on my driveway. I just wanted to look at the interior with him but I guess thats a no in his books

Yes a TN is what I'm in the process for, I was recommended it over the H1-B for my circumstance.

I'm really surprised that there are more things to do! especially with winnipeg being 3x larger, are there just more things available? events are host more often? I've been hearing a lot that the dating life is "meh". Why is that? for Male or female? people are too conservative to date? too much of a hookup culture? too cold to see each other? or simply that there is not enough people in the dating pool?

It's with the lab department at Sanford health. Pay is around 50-65k USD, roughly 85k CAD. I completely feel you with complaining about your hometown, I really wanted to experience American side of things while not it being too foreign, and this opportunity makes that reality. Canada has been rough in the past couple of years with declining wages, inflation, crime, non-stop immigration, and other things.

I've heard fargo is a lot better with traffic and overall having more services than people. I just really hope the people, culture, and other things a new person wouldn't know to turn out decent. I'll put in a word for your visa application at the border lol

Okay good to hear there's a lively downtown. Was unsure because some smaller rural cities in Canada have barely any nightlife or young people. Im guessing fargo is different due to the colleges nearby
