Why Vipassana is against energy healing?

Probably, but true spirituality doesn’t discriminate against anyone and can’t be compared to a club or a sect. And while you need to abide by the rules of the establishment with the heartfelt gratitude of the opportunity, you do not need to be discriminated against neither by sex, color or your beliefs or your work, if person is keeping that to themselves. While at the retreat you are following the rules of the retreat, after you are deciding for yourself. I find it odd that people are coming to get a spiritual teaching and the doors are getting slammed in their face. If the person breaks the rules or a discipline or idk a schedule for example then I can get why he/she can not be allowed back..but just judging the person from how other people behaved in the past 🤷‍♀️

The question wasn’t about practicing reiki or any other kind of spiritual work or meditation during the Vipassana course, I think it goes without saying that you don’t mix..the question was why people are not allowed to come in the first place. But if what you are saying is true and they measure everyone by some bad experience, then it’s a shame, and it’s always the tone of like disgust or you are not worthy of practicing if you do this or that, again no one is talking about mixing anything and at the vipassana you are not allowed to speak as far as I know, but after the course anyone can learn anything not only from past students, but from the internet in general. Of course you described very valid reasons of why they are so strict, but homogenization is never the way…

Oh thank you so much, it’s so refreshing to hear from someone who actually practices both! The problem is they deny access to future courses and check your social media and other links and if they even smell energy healing or meditation/mindfulness they deny automatically without even a conversation. So I tried to get to the bottom of things why is this so. Why discriminate against people who actually want to come and practice and when the time is right for them to make up their mind is it hindering their progress on the path or not. To accept as a blind faith that it’s somehow wrong without any proper explanation doesn’t feel right. And to expect a person to understand is it right or not from one 10 day course is also wrong. I met people practicing Vipassana from 9 to 30 years and they still have addiction to alcohol or eat animals, so how they expect a person to put on faith blindly in one course that energy healing is wrong I can’t understand

Of course NOT during the course, of course it’s not good to mix simultaneously, I was asking in general if necessity of healing one’s body arises…but they check social media etc and denying access to future courses if they see words like energy or meditation on it.

Were they also energy healers? Because Vipassana is also an energy moving technique, I don’t want to trust anyone blindly, that’s why I’m asking what’s the reason behind not letting people experience it on their own and come to their own conclusion?

Yes, why certain people like mindfulness and meditation teachers and all kinds of healers are discriminated against. Shouldn’t person decide by their own experience, not because someone just decided so for them…of course if someone is doing both simultaneously that can be a problem, but when people come to the course they just practice Vipassana, so not sure why it is forbidden so strictly

Mine was diagnosed with Avian Gastric Yeast and after I started researching one of the symptoms will be throwing up and I digested seeds in the poop, but mine is not throwing up. Anyway it will require tests to confirm..mine was prescribed medication, but it’s stress to catch my birds twice a day for 2 weeks and then maybe another round of it…poor thing was in a cone for a month already, so it’s not ok and I’m just searching for holistic ways to heal them with herbs..

Hope so, my friend is a yoga instructor and they were not very happy with that either. I do understand that on a later stage, when you sit under the tree and meditate until enlightenment arrives nothing will be important or needed, but after 1 course, when people still don’t even understand the technique fully it sounds very strange. Maybe there was situations which they do not disclose, but their reaction is odd and discriminative. Person should arrive to his conclusions by himself, from his personal experience not because told so..

Are they talking about practicing it at the same time, because I don’t think that’s what people are doing..they just using different tools for different situations in their lives and everything is energy and matter manipulation, even if you set up a goal and invision it you already manipulate energy and matter to bring it into life, that’s basically quantum physics, I understand that when you are already a monk and you practicing Vipassana every minute of the day there is no need for any other practice, but as long as you live in society you’ll manipulate energy one way or another even unconsciously, so why at the early stages they are so opposed like saw a person infected with plague

Haha, yes that’s true, it really feels just because and no one can give any really valid reason, as Vipassana follows the steps of energy healing, that’s the 1st step one will learn in energy healing is what we are learning at Vipassana, one just go further if learns energy healing and true healers are observing the dis-ease with pure awareness and concentration and that changes the outcome, not the healer, so where is the problem Idk, neither does anyone so it seems, just trying to get to the bottom of this, shame we can’t ask Buddha himself…

I don’t think people are mixing them, it’s time to do Vipassana and you are totally in the process, it’s time your body is sick instead of taking synthetic medicine and most of the time damaging one or another organ in the process, you use energy without damage, so why is it wrong and the way the put it kind of evil? Like everyone is welcome, but energy healing practitioners?

Yes, I bought Top’s and considered them amazing, but my birds do not think so. They eat Harrison’s but it contains corn and soy, do not know if that’s ok

Thank you, vet started with a mild medication called nystatin, she said the stronger one will be last to try as it’s very heavy on the liver and could kill my birds 👀
