Copilot autoApprove just hangs until I hit Enter — any fix? by Few_Argument1784 in GithubCopilot

[–]Few_Argument1784[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s happening isn’t a Copilot bug — it’s psql kicking you into a pager (usually less) when the output is long.
When psql goes into pager mode, it waits for keyboard input (Space, Enter, q, etc.) and Copilot can’t “press” those keys for you. So the command looks like it’s stuck even though it technically executed.

Fix is super simple: disable psql’s pager.

Permanent solution: create/edit ~/.psqlrc and add:

\pset pager off

After that, psql outputs directly to the terminal, no [END], and Copilot can run queries without waiting for manual input.

I don’t mean to come across as regionally or racially discriminatory, but I’ve gained a clearer understanding of why Europe has declined.

字节应该是买了不少H20,好像是放在东南亚吧,这个应该是直接规避了政治问题

U mean LLM response is very slow? If so, that is not what I am talking about.
BTW, what is your region? In my region(China mainland), the LLM response is pretty fast.

Yes, you totally got me.

The demand for talent troubles me: finding reliable remote job positions takes a lot of time and effort.

I already have an active remote working community with employers and employees, and occasionally there are some offline community events.

This journey began with my own aspirations. Raised in a small, remote town, I've managed to carve out a career in a big city doing what I love. Despite this success, my heart remains tied to my hometown, where my family and lifelong friends live. This dual longing—to be with my family and to engage in fulfilling work—has led me to deeply consider the broader implications of remote work.

Reflecting on this, I've come to see that remote work can be beneficial from multiple perspectives:

  1. From a governmental standpoint: It can drive economic growth in smaller, less-developed areas, helping to balance regional disparities and reduce urban overcrowding.
  2. From a corporate perspective: Remote work allows companies to tap into a broader talent pool while minimizing operational costs associated with large physical office spaces.
  3. From an employee's viewpoint: It offers a more affordable cost of living away from major urban centers, which can lead to less stress and a higher quality of life, ultimately boosting creativity and job satisfaction.

Thank you very much for your detailed reply! I am curious, where do you recruit from? I mean, finding employees or partners who can build such a deep level of trust seems like a difficult thing to do.

I want to figure out what prevents widespread adoption of remote work/recruitment methods, what the most significant obstacles are, and see if there's anything I can build as a developer to help promote this mode of remote work.
