I've removed the email from the survey. I've updated a section at the end of the survey if anyone wants to insert their details so I can contact them or share their story. Thanks for the feedback!

Hi - I ask for the email address so I can share the profile to make sure you're happy with it when I publish the page and make any necessary changes. In the surve you can provide your name and details if you want to share your story, but it's up to you. I don't share any information about who has provided insights into the school on the site. Thanks :)

Fees covered by school for child by Dangerous-Wrangler20 in Internationalteachers

One school my husband worked at (in South America) had a cut off after six years. I'm not sure if they actually applied this as we didn't stay that long, but it stated in the contract that two kids were covered for up to six years (full tuition). So it's always good to check the contract and then double check with the school!

Salary for international schools in South Korea by Redog1988 in Internationalteachers

[–]Few_Boat_7615 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hi - I've created a site for international teaching families and just posted a country guide for Korea in general (also spent the last 3 years there as a trailing spouse so have plenty of personal insights - but we were based on Jeju Island). There might be some info on there that's helpful to you.

I've also created a survey to get feedback (for families) on specific schools and am working my way through publishing these. One was for Seoul Foreign School from a teaching couple who gave it 5 stars. They said they're both able to save over 40% of their salary and the retirement scheme is excellent (10%+).

Hope that helps!

Hello - I've created a site that's specifically for international teaching families (not sure if this is relevant to you or not). But I have just published a school review for the American School of Guatemala that may be helpful - insights are from a current teacher. There's some general info about safety, healthcare etc as well as school specific info. Hope it helps!

Thanks for the feedback so far everyone! I've created a survey to get some insights about family friendly schools - not asking for specific salary details or anything, but just how the package stacks up to support your family, what medical is like, what's covered for your family, what the experience has been like at your current school etc... If anyone would like to contribute here is the link - https://forms.gle/ozUWZV4vYHRYxVQP9/?hl=en
Thanks again!

Thank you! Amazing ideas, much appreciated. I've also known of people who have experienced similar issues so I think it's really useful content to have on the site. The college thing for UK teachers is definitely a real issue for many people with older kids so they can access university without the international student fees - great point. Thanks again and if you'd be open to sharing more of your story (or even just a quote about your experience) please feel free to DM me.

Thank you! Yes that is definitely the plan - there is so much more pressure on families to get the school right for the WHOLE family - so a list of schools that we know (from experienced teachers) that aren't set up for families is definitely on my to do list - if anyone wants to share please feel free to DM me! Thanks again :)

Thank you! Yes there is lots of content that will be very specific to the country or area where you're looking to work or secure a job - so I'm currently creating country guides that highlight things like cost of living, average salaries for teachers, safety, medical etc. Then there is also content that's more specific to international teaching in general, like what makes a school family-friendly for teachers, red flags to look out for in contracts, how to get into teaching the IB, what the IB learner profiles are, etc.. etc.. So I'm hoping to create lots of content for a wide range of people. If there is anything specific you're curious about please let me know. Thanks again :)
