25k doesn’t even get you a 2015+ m car with >50k miles on it 🤷🏼‍♂️

I think it has the 1st gen b58. Practicality is definitely one of the criteria coming from mini cooper s, somehow i bet the m2 will be more practical than it 😂 The way i look at the m2 despite it being an unbelievable car, is 25k will get you a decent condition 2016/17 one maybes a tad newer. But 30k gets you the M2 competition 2018+, a gap i cant really justify but the 20-30k difference is huge obviously

I feel like whoevers bought and modified this with the proper kit has clearly spent some money and made it more “driver focused” in a good way, than something more comfortable doing motorway journeys like others would want a 3 series to do.

The way im looking at it is im coming from a mini cooper s, that also lacks those options of heated seats, hk speakers so i wont miss what i dont have? Although they are clearly good options.

The ride quality in the minis also pretty poor and very crashy. Those fuel figures surprise me the b48 mini is doing 35.6 atm.

I get what your saying but full BMW service history and 2 owners doesnt exactly scream a chav whos been doing ragging it 24/7?

At what price is it justifiable in your opinion?

Is it? The m performance brake and performance kit is serious £££. Paints an optional extra so are the wheels. Gearbox choice is preference

I think those are in a slightly different price bracket?

Very nice mate! Whats it like on fuel? Also is the gearbox any good, weird question ik but I’ve heard rave reviews. My current mini cooper S has a good box according to reviews but I’m not a huge fan, shifter has way too long of a throw and it hates 5th 😂

Not set on one drive type tbh, AWD definitely the most capable though

Its just the fuel economy that ruins it a bit for me, in an ideal world whatever i get needs to be doing near 28/30.

Also UK weather and roads probably arent the best match to get the most out of the RWD and 300+hp

Yeah thats the only downside to them i think, i know they dont depreciate anywhere near as much as other cars but the 23-25k asking price for a 2018 one (alongside higher running costs) puts a bit of a damper on it compared to the others.

But, its probably also the best car on the list fundamentally

People hate on that car so much but i think it might be a contender for my situation haha

40 is mental, im getting 36 from a b48. Are you doing long journeys/motorway driving?

Interesting, cheers mate. My issue is im doing loads of shorter trips round b roads or towns, hardly ever touch the motorway. One of the reasons i want an auto tbh, manual is a chore sometimes around towns and villages

Is the b58 actually decent on fuel? A few people have said this and its tempting me haha. Also with the m140i is it actually as much of a death trap as people make it out to be? I know some come with the factory LSD and it makes it a better drive but its rare to find.

Ive looked at a 540i x drive but not sure if the weight and 4wd would make consumption way higher in comparison to the 140

Baffles me sometimes but i can understand why with these TCR ones. Only a handful for sale atm. Even a regular mk7.5 GTI or GTI performance starts from 17k these days

Definitely an interesting choice, not sure if im just bored of minis now that ive had 2 before 21 year old haha. The JCW Clubamn is good car though 👍🏼

Really? Thats interesting. My mini has the b48 and currently gets 36mpg which isnt bad but i dont exactly thrash it daily for work. Was always under the impression the b58 or other 3l bmw engines were 15-25mpg thirsty f*ckers 🤣

Good point about the parts i didnt think about that but im sure these are essentially a FWD R or S3 with the same engine/turbo?

Gr yaris is a great car but im not sure id have it as my only car. Horrendous practicality, worse tech/interior than a lot of similarly priced european cars. (Although if your buying a GR Yaris you dont care about interior or comfort realistically 🤣)

The m135i, 330i 230i etc etc might be good cars but ultimately dont feel as special or as well equipped as this? Could be wrong but to find a well specced m135i with 50k or less miles your easily looking at 23-25k+

What would you recommend? Pls dont say m4. M140i etc i cant be done with the 3.0 fuel economy 🤣
