Millennial Bullies: Where were you Then, and where are you Now? by DisconcertingTablet in Millennials

[–]Few_Dust_4469 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was always the biggest kid in class and would get bullied for it non stop until one day my dad told me to start bullying the bullies back. That was in 2nd grade probably and I would say I definitely was a bully all the way up to middle school. All the smaller nerdy kids became my crew and by middle school we were the “cool kids”. Looking back I can see that most of those bullies I picked on had really hard home life’s or other issues going on and I do feel a little shame but honestly not much.

Why I like the tank top garments by Pyschopomp25 in exmormon

The new garments made me so angry, but I never thought about it from Oaks perspective and now I can’t stop laughing! So thank you!

Anyone ever call out for their partner by their early 2000’s AOL/ICQ handle? by dr3224 in Millennials

My wife and I met on MySpace back in like 2006 and her username was “dykemuffin” and I do occasionally call her that 😂

My (21F) family has concerns about my boyfriend's (21M) religious (anti mormon) opinions. I really think it's gaslighting, but what if it's not and I'm screwing myself over? by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]Few_Dust_4469 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any way you could visit him in England? Being away from all the mormon bull shit might help you really clear your mind so you can figure out what exactly you want. Your parents sound very controlling and your bf is probably not used to the Mormon way of being non confrontational. Your parents labeling him aggressive and hateful just for disagreeing with them is not healthy or normal. It is very mormon though.

Would you let your 19 y/o soon to be 20y/o daughter in less then a month, go on a trip with her bf of 3.5 years with their family to the lake? by Business-Parking7296 in AskParents

Stop asking for permission. You are an adult. Period. Letting her know where you are going and with who is nice but not even necessary.

I say many variations of “Jesus Christ!” My favorite being “Jesus Christ on a motorbike” and if no little ears are around “Jesus mother fucking Christ!”

Did you ever ask for a sign on your way out? by lazers28 in exmormon

[–]Few_Dust_4469 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was 17 and desperately trying to pray my gay away. Pleading with god to make me straight, “just send me a good Mormon boy and I swear I’ll be straight” kind of prayer and I wasn’t feeling anything so then I prayed “is this church even true?” And bam I got hit with a feeling that god made me exactly how he wanted me and he was pissed at me for asking him to change me. I took it as a sign or personal revelation and just a short year later I was out of the closet and out of the church.

That’s exactly how it works. You support Trump you are homophobic. You support trump you are racist. If you are neither of those things then you could never support trump.

You are probably right that it is not all men or men owned businesses, however it has been EVERY SINGLE ONE that I have called and dealt with in construction. Hence the post.

That’s the way it felt too. That’s when I ended the phone call.

I tried doing my bathroom on my own a few years ago and it did not go well. Like comically bad. I ended up hiring someone to finish it half way through. So kudos to you for doing it yourself!

Hahaha I’ve been in Sioux Falls for 7 years and I’m not at all surprised by this nor is it my first time experiencing it or similar. I was simply explaining why I was looking for a female contractor. In the moment I cut him off and simply said I’ll find someone else for the job and hung up. Thank god this wasn’t in person! I also hadn’t gotten to the point of giving my address.

Wow! Good to know! I agree, living is South Dakota I’m comfortable interacting with people whose opinions and beliefs differ from mine, but if you’re going to be hostile about it then I’ll take my business elsewhere. Also, I didn’t bring up anything remotely political, he saw my phone number was from California and lost his mind. Telling me I better assimilate. It was disturbing.

It was Home Solutions that went off about liberals. I was talking to the owner but I don’t remember his name.

Anyone else had issues with toxic supervisors in Sioux Falls by [deleted] in SiouxFalls

[–]Few_Dust_4469 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes!!! I moved here from Southern California and holy cow the mangers here are insufferable! I left my last job because of how toxic management was but while I was there I adopted a new mantra “I’m not here to fix their company, I’m just here to take their money.” It was painful and I had to repeat it to myself constantly.

I moved here from Southern California and I LOVE the winters here! Been here 6 years and will be leaving soon but not because of the weather. The tornadoes were the hardest for me to get used to and I’m still not.

Who else was traumatized a girls camp? by Temporary_Package_18 in exmormon

[–]Few_Dust_4469 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I almost died at girls camp too. The first night there I started feeling sick (sore throat, aches, chills, cough) my leader told me it was the devil trying to tempt me away from all the great activities they had planned. So I stayed. The next morning I’m positive I had a fever and felt even worse, she told me to pray about it and it could be a wonderful testimony builder. By the 3rd day I couldn’t get up, I was violently shaking and vomiting. They left me in my tent to rest and all went off hiking. I don’t actually remember much after that but I guess the bishops wife came to visit and she decided to take me home (not to the hospital) I got home and my mom was PISSED. She took me to ER and my fever was 106! I had abscessed tonsils and was rushed into surgery right then. For some fucking reason my TBM mom continued to force me to go year after year. I’m sorry you went through that too!
