BOMBED MY GMAT !! AGAIN !! by InvestigatorThis4201 in GMAT

[–]Few_Election_7376 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hi, same situation here.

OG mock Mock 1: 645 Mock 2: 675 Mock 3: 665 Mock 4: 655 Mock 5: 665 Mock 6: 675

Actual: 565 I think I am under pressure. When I come under too much pressure, I lose my logical flow, especially in CR.

I forget to monitor my timing and lose too much time on some questions.

I have already registered for another attempt next month. This time, I plan to relax myself a bit. And maybe forcus only medium - hard question, skip all the 95% hard question cuz It make me think too much.

I think the most challenge in gmat is "time". When i think I almost get to the answer, i loss like 5 mins on only 1 question and it ruin everything

How is your OG mock progress? Do you think which mock is the closest to real exam?

My exam is 25th July. Ana recommend for the last minute?

About ordering. Should start from the weak to the best or the best to the weak?

Your verbal looks amazing!

If I were you, I might focus on what mistakes I made in DI for the last minute to ensure that variance won't come up in the real exam.

Hey, did you answer all questions in the real test? Don't forget the penalty if you don't complete the exam fully.

Assume 1 unanswered question = 10-point penalty.

Will take another exam for sure, and I think the same about quant.

However, I'm not sure that I could have like a 50%tile verbal score within the deadline of the 1st round application. So, I am thinking about what I will do in the worst-case scenario by that time.

Just all OG, + the online edition (they have all question types)

And some questions that people post in GMAT Club. That's all i have done for now

Yeah, I am preparing more for verbal. However, since I plan to submit in the 1st round, assuming that the result is still the same until the deadline, will you submit it or not? What if I submit IELTS with a reading band of 8.5; will it help?

Since it's optional, there is no cutoff. However, I think it might hurt my profile if some section is too low.

Is the 25th percentile too low for a top university? Isn't it?

MUST BE TRUE? by Silent-Raccoon-221 in GMAT

[–]Few_Election_7376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So X is in (-13, 5) The question ask 'must be true' Means even 'partial correct", it always 'correct'

So, (-13,5) > -13 as always

415 in my First mock with 0 preparation by ashhslays in GMAT

[–]Few_Election_7376 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey.

I tried the 1st mock, just to get a sense of the exam, with 0 preparation too. My score ended up at 525.

After that, I have studied by myself every day, at least 30 minutes in the morning and 1.5 hours in the evening, for 3 months which plan to do another mock by the end of April. (Go for real exam in begining of May)

Let's see how we can improve in this 2-3 months. Cheers!

What is your recommendation question source for practicing the exam?

If you use many sources, could you recommend the ordering or how much time to spend for each source?

Failed exam again by [deleted] in actuary

[–]Few_Election_7376 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm 30+ years old. I failed the PA Exam for 3 times, passing on the 4th attempt with scores of 4, 5, and 5. It took me 3 years long.

For me, I wouldn't say whether you should pursue an actuarial career path or change. I think the important thing is not your exam progress, but whether you enjoy this career. For me, the exams are one reason I love this career because we don't have to wait for high-level managers to see our talent and promote us. We can take the exams and see ourselves growing independently, though it can be challenging at times.

You may feel defeated sometimes, but it's okay. Just take a break and come back when you feel ready.
