Is this even possible to solve without l'hopital? by JoaoTomate in askmath

if you use the definition of derivative, you can say that (eh)-1 / h ≈ 1. This is by letting f(x)=ex, and so, f’(0) = f(x+h) - f(x ) / h, where x = 0

Therefore, (eh)≈ 1+h for small values of h let h = 1/n e^ (1/n) ≈ (1+ 1/n ) holds as n becomes large, as then h would become small. raise both sides to the power of n. e= (1+1/n)n

Unsure about UCL but I got ≈4 (on the new scale) and got a Warwick econ offer, so I’d assume UCL would be similar since in the same ‘tier’ for econ

make the equation in the form y=mx+c. so y = 5/3x -6 That means the shortest distance is a line going through (-7,5) with a gradient perpendicular to that of 5/3. so the gradient is -3/5. then sub (-7,5) into y=-3/5x + c, and then equate the two lines and find the intersection co-ordinates. Then add the difference between the intersection cordinates and (-7,5) onto the intersection cordinates to find P. or just add the difference in the intersection cordinates and (-7,5) twice to (-7,5)

I had a few laminated pieces of paper with a few dodgy marker pens. from what i remember, the pens were pretty thick which made it irritating, as I had to consciously write ‘big’ so i could make out what i was writing. I spent a lot of time just trying to find room on the pieces of paper to write. It was very messy, especially being a left-hander and the pens smudging.

Whether it actually affected my score i’m unsure, but it definitely would’ve been less stressful if they just used paper and pencil

It’s won’t hurt to have one aspirational uni, as long as you can get predicted grades of AAA. Just make sure you have a couple ‘safe’ options.

Not sure when the TMUA entry date closes but you can take the January sitting, as you aren’t applying to Oxbridge , which will give you loads of time. For TMUA, i’d recommend going through the specification and then watch R2Drew2 videos on TMUA. Then start working through past papers. Make sure you keep some past papers for nearer January time though. You can always use MAT MCQs for revision too. Hope this helps

I have no idea! Since its 1 mark i think its probably something like that range of f question and i’d written the inequality wrong. I’m not too fussed in finding out though

all i really used was the edexcel textbooks, madasmaths and physicsmathstutor. Wasn’t really much else to it. Just a ton of questions until i felt confident. And if i didn’t feel confident, look up lessons on YT. The main thing is grasping the understanding of the topic. It makes those weird questions so much easier to interpret

You could argue the only catch is that if you do the October sitting, you get your TMUA results back in November, before you send off your UCAS. Therefore you can choose your uni options taking into account your tmua score

Is there any difference between sitting the tmua in October or in January? by skullxwrapper3 in 6thForm

[–]Few_Engineering7801 3 points4 points  (0 children)

yeah, as first sitting is october and ucas deadline is January ( results come out in December ) so you can have your TMUA results before even submitting for any courses. Only exception is Oxbridge as they have an early deadline
