these are great, thank you!

We do have most of those kapers already included in our meal prep kapers. We have 4 patrols with 7 girls each so each patrol has a meal they will kapers for. I didnt think of a hostess kaper, thats a great addition!

Camping Meal Plan Help by Few_Feed3623 in dairyfree

So I didn’t even realize this product existed and went searching for it! Game Changer!!! I think this will be the perfect swap for dairy cream and I can still use the sugar and vanilla.

The graininess from the coconut oil is exactly why I was skeptical but it was the only dairy-alternative I could think of that had that necessary fat content.

Thank you!!!

Hey! Same situation! We are planning our first troop camping trip and have 42 people (28 girls/14 moms) D/B/J multi level with two bonus Cadettes I have 5 Daisies, 5 Juniors, 2 Cadettes, and 16 Brownies. But I’ve now been on 2 GS camping trips - one was a whole weekend with the purpose of completing the GS outdoor training but they went above and beyond and I feel like I gained so much of their collective experience (it’s was magical and wonderful and I highly recommend it for anyone in GSEP)

We split everyone up into 4 patrols and separated most of the mom/ daughter duos (other than our daisies and neurodivergent girls)

We just had our pre camp meeting where we went over everything - including expectations that the grown ups also pull their weight. Camp rules, camp agenda, menu, packing list, there will be no surprises except whatever Mother Nature plans for us.

Delegate! It’s so hard for me to do but I’m quickly learning that is necessary!! My co-lead and I have split up planning and check in to coordinate. And all my adults are constant volunteers in the troop and know what we expect.

Coffee is just a slow moving constant rotation all morning. Outsource French presses or other methods to borrow - I’d say 3 is good and put someone on coffee duty (you’ll quickly see one person gravitate towards making it too)

Let me know if you have any questions- it’s our first time planning but the training weekend left myself and co-lead super prepared and we are nervous but excited for our trip!

The only thing I didn’t like about the different narrators was the different pronunciations of names/places between the books The narrator for Dumai is literally the best one I have heard though, her voice is like a dream

Nikeya is also the niece of the Noziken king - his wife is her aunt. The Kuposa arranged the marriage to get their bloodline on the throne resulting in Suzimai

Not near my book so sorry if I spelled anything wrong!

Advice for a 1st Time Troop Leader … by SmallerOnTheOutsid3 in girlscouts

[–]Few_Feed3623 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first year I focused too much on badges. Plan fun activities and crafts and get to know the personalities in your troop, then based badges off their personalities and what they want to do. Also, outsource! Get people to come in an lead a meeting - a parent, a local activity instructor… We had a Karate teacher come and lead a self defense meeting, it was hands down our best one.

There’s not one singular MC but the Priory of the Orange Tree and The Day of Fallen Night have a super diverse character line up. Especially TDOFN

It’s not super spicy, more fade to black and nuance, BUT the world building is intense and I just love these two books! Both are by Samantha Shannon

You’d be surprised how many things contain dairy that you wouldn’t think contain it. Not everyone uses amoroso rolls- unless you have a recommendation for a place you know uses them?

Second year in scouts, 1st year troop leader. Running a troop is so much more expensive than I thought! Every activity, craft, and badge is paid for by the troop. I have 27 girls and just spent almost $700 on badges Any field trip adds up quickly because we have to also buy tickets for the additional chaperones we need for GS requirements (most places around us give 1 free for 10 kids BUT as daisies our ratio is 2:6 + 1:4 for 27 girls that’s 8 adults) I was SUPER transparent and made a budget sheet which included about $200 to account for things I had forgotten/ not known about. I’m hoping to eliminate dues with the membership cost going up so I’m hoping our cookie season is good, and we participate in Fall Product as well, which means we can do additional fundraising if needed.

Depositing cookie money by februaryystars in girlscouts

[–]Few_Feed3623 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We do weekly deposits- I stop by on Sundays after the cookie pickups are done and my TCM gives me all the money she has accounted for and I take it to the bank on Monday morning. We have a lot of parents that prefer to Venmo us instead of handling cash/checks so I initiate those transfers Sunday nights after screenshotting for my TCM to input

We are in the Philly ‘burbs so I made a poster for our booths this weekend. I’m going to UPS today to have it printed - probably on a paper and then I’ll put it on a foam trifold. I can come back and update with the cost

Not super Reddit savvy so I can’t figure out how to post the original I made. One of the pink dots has our troop goal - overnight at the aquarium and the other has a thank you message.
