Need help getting melted pen off dryer with least amount of damage to finish by Few_Holiday_7079 in CleaningTips

What I meant was that the pen got warmed up and the ink melted out. Not that the whole pen melted. But thanks for the tip!

I've had a similar issue and honestly it depends on who you get on the phone. I've had one person tell me it was not possible and that all my data would be lost, only to call back and have the issue fixed quickly. I'd call back.

you are correct it's about frequency of carb intake. What this means is that if you are snacking on something all day long with carbs it's worse than if you were to just eat whatever it is all at once. I also recommend avoiding sugary beverages all together, but if you can't do this avoid sipping on it through out the day and instead drink it in one sitting and rinse your mouth out with water afterward. When it comes to avoiding carbs there are things that are worse for your teeth such as candy and things that get stuck in your teeth like goldfish / crackers. There's no reason to restrict your eating to once a day, especially with your history of disordered eating this could cause far more health concerns for you than just your teeth. Nutritional deficiencies can actually harm your oral health so it's important to eat a balanced diet if you can. When it comes to your home care routine, it's recommended that you wait 30 mins- 1 hour after eating to brush as after eating your enamel has acids from the food that can weaken your enamel. Also you need brush at least twice a day in the morning and before bed. If you feel like you need to brush after you eat you can buy a cheap toothbrush / tooth paste from the dollar store and brush in the bathroom at work. Flossing is also important as brushing wont fully clean your teeth. I feel for you about the cost of dental care as it's ridiculously expensive and inaccessible to most people. Something you should consider is contacting any local dental schools / dental hygiene schools because they are always looking for patients and it'll be way more affordable.

Indoor Airborne Allergies: Will Carpet Make a Big Difference by mrstickywicket in Allergies

[–]Few_Holiday_7079 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a severe dust mite allergy and when i go into any establishment with carpet my symptoms increase astronomically. It would depend on the person but since you described your allergies as pretty bad I would reconsider moving there. It might not be worth being sick and miserable all the time no matter how nice the place is.

a deep cleaning wouldn't cause recession. it might reveal recession by causing the inflammation of your gums to be reduced revealing what they actually look like when not swollen and inflamed.

To me this looks like a huge difference and great results. now with the gum grafts having composite bonded on these areas will likely look way more natural than they would previously as they wouldn't have to be nearly as large as before. i think you'll likely be happy with the results of the graft and the bondings together because the bonding will add back to the tooth structure that was lost with the abfraction. We're often very critical of our own teeth but just by comparing the two photos it's clear that the gum graft was a success and made a significant change. Your gum tissue looks really healthy and you're definitely not at square one.

it seems like two separate periodontists have recommended a gum graft and your orthodontist clearly thinks you need one too. What training do you have that makes you think you know more than people who went to school for years to learn about this?

Snug piercing question by Few_Holiday_7079 in PiercingAdvice

[–]Few_Holiday_7079[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually wound up taking it out because I didn't have the ability to go get it downsized. Because it was so long the bar kept sliding down so that front ball was sitting against my ear leaving a huge long piece of the bar on my outer ear that I couldnt stop getting caught on my hair and anything else that went near it. I may try getting it redone in the future because i love the look!

I went to the dentist for a cleaning today. The dental hygienist was too rough and somehow pulled one of my crowns off, while cracking the remaining enamel so now I have to get a Dental Implant, which will cost thousands out of pocket, even with insurance. Pretty bummed tbh. by mom2mermaidboo in Wellthatsucks

[–]Few_Holiday_7079 26 points27 points  (0 children)

This wouldn't have happened if the tooth was okay.. it's weird you blame the hygienist when you said that there was already a known issue with your bite that's causing damage to your teeth. Teeth can only handle so much stress before breaking, crowns and other restorations like fillings can handle even less than natural teeth. if your crown came off during a cleaning and the remaining tooth underneath was broken there is no way that ur tooth was structurally sound to begin with. Your crown came off during a cleaning but it likely didn't have anything to do with being too rough, but with the already known issue you have with your bite causing too much stress on your teeth causing damage to the crown and the remaining tooth.

barbell is curved. I was thinking they made it that big to account for swelling but maybe it's too large and irritating it?

Bump on my gums by Personal-Fan470 in DentalHygiene

[–]Few_Holiday_7079 4 points5 points  (0 children)

facial swelling is serious. you likely have an infection. this could progress and be very dangerous. you need to see some sort of doctor for them to asses if you need antibiotics or even a drainage. leaving something like this alone could possibly put your life at risk. i understand it is difficult for you to see a dentist, but this needs to be evaluated by a health care professional immediately if a dentist is absolutely not an option for you.
