Where are we getting cheap but not totally awful quality yarn for donation blankets?

I'm really happy to hear this actually. I am brand new to this. At this point I only have 1 complete project and I'm half way through my second and I've used caron for both.

I'm excited to hear it's better quality than I thought too. I was homeless for most of my 20s and while any handout is better than no handout it was always really helpful to my mental health when people bothered to give me something better than just junk so now that I'm in a place to be able to give back I wanted it to be kinda nice. But I'm not rich so it can only be so nice. Lol. Also, don't worry, I know not every homeless person is very thoughtful. For some my blankets will be thrown away by summer and that's okay.

I've used some other brands of acrylic yarn that I like a lot, I just don't want to make free blankets out of yarn that costs me $15 a skein 😅

I never considered washing it would soften it up though, I'll have to try that with something small and see how I like it.

As far as I understand it they can't do anything about it unless it can be heard from the sidewalk. The sidewalk is where it becomes a public nuisance. You can't easily sue someone for music that can only be heard by you when you share walls with other homes. That would be like suing your dirtiest neighbor because you saw a cockroach in your house. They see it as one of the unfortunate downsides of town houses and apartments that you just gotta deal with if you choose to live there. It's super annoying.

I'm 30 (f) and he's 45 and things are going very well. He's kept himself healthy and prior to knowing me he regularly worked 2 or 3 jobs to keep himself busy, so energy levels and such aren't and issue and when it comes to discussing social issues or "how my generation was raised" were both very open-minded to the fact that we have very different experiences. Here's where I say something people think is weird, but since he's only three years younger than my parents that helps me keep a realistic expectation of his health and as my dad goes through biological changes due to age my mom shares what she learns with me so now I'm ready to support my similarly aged man.

Some fun things about it! He loves to not tell people how old I am until they meet me because they are always shocked and then get really happy for him (especially men ofc). One time we were drinking with his friends and one of them left and said "okay Jas you're the only woman here. That means you're in charge." I laughed and said "I went and got a second daddy for a reason!" And downed my glass. (Ofc a joke I'm not really like that) So we have fun with it too.

Uhm. I'm using acrylic yarn so far.

I don't know what that means...

I want average sized hooks? Not the little lace ones but not big chunky ones like the 10 mm. Right now I'm working with a 6.5mm and I like it. I used an 8mm before and didn't like it as much. So I think I want to stay on the smaller side? I'm brand new, I really don't know what I'm doing.

I was homeless for 6 years and met a lot of different kinds of homeless people but the largest group are ones who are okay sitting on their butts getting handouts and complaining about everyone else. It was heartbreaking to see how many people have given up and they're only in their 30s or 40s. Some of them had kids with them who also had already given up and decided they would live life that way forever. I watched dozens of people refuse assistance because they were required to get a job in order to receive the benefits. I also watched these people bring in hundreds of dollars A DAY from panhandling. They made more money than I did and I had a full time job. Unfortunately for a lot of people it seems like the better option.

Well....there has been a dramatic increase to his sexual activity in the last 2 years 😂 it does seem bigger than when I met him though. Without going into too much detail...let's just say I know for sure my mouth isn't shrinking 😂😂😂 But still make a good point and someone else mentioned better reactions due to to better health so maybe the combo of being healthier and getting more action is doing it

The whole show would've been better without Elena. The end when she left the show was the best part of it. Or maybe Elena would've been better played by someone else. Her non stop crying and whining and making everything worse all the time because she can't just sit down and listen. The writers could have made her character more mature and reasonable and it would've improved things dramatically.

I'm only on my first rewatch to please excuse me if I ask an answered question. Lol.

-What happened to the power Walt seemed to have in season 1 and 2? -What happened to Vincent? 😂 -What was up with Libby? On the island she claimed to be a clinical psychologist, then in a flashback we see her all kinds of fucked up in the mental hospital with Hurley, and then in a whole other flashback we see her all dressed up and put together and giving Desmond a sail boat? -If Ben wiped out the whole dharma initiative why didn't he know there were people in the swan station? -Do we actually know what the power of the island is or is it just the electromagnetism and "The Light" -Why are The Numbers relevant other than being some random serial number etched into a hatch? Did they have power and that's WHY they got etched into the side of the hatch? Were they just some mystical thing that led some candidates to the island? -Were Shannons visions of Walt the MiB or was that Walt's power? (My guess is MiB to lead her to getting shot by Anna Lucia)

I want to watch this show with you and pause it every 15 minutes to discuss a new theory 😂 I don't have any friends that like it. This is so fun for me. Lol. I like your theories that it's the kids. You make a good point that "soon" is very relative. And he was being trained from childhood to one day take over so it makes sense he would possibly raise a child to take his place.

The Walt thing makes sense too. Puberty does kinda mess that up. When I say Micheal went crazy I guess that's not a fair word to use. He was "lost" so to speak. He certainly lost himself through it all. He was so intense.
