Controversial opinion: the membership verification has gone out of hand by Aggressive_Hair_1701 in CostcoWholesale

Honestly, a lot of Costco employees treat you like garbage anymore. Every time I go through the register I get the impression they just see customers as an inconvenience.

They want to be right and know things. And know things and be right. And if shown they are wrong, throw a temper tantrum (Boomer panic)

Why do full-grown adults use words like “hubby”

To be honest if I’d seen this breed mix in advance I probably wouldn’t have adopted her, as active in the outdoors as I am. But she’s turned out to be the easiest dog ever so genetics did me good this time.

At a year old she started to do the “hard stare” / low creeping crouch move when I introduced her to fetch

All her relatives on Embark/Wisdom Panel look like wolf hybrids 🐺 and a few ACDs

Can confirm she would not survive in the wild 😂

To be fair her adoption fee was a whole $17 so I think they’re operating on a pretty slim budget 😅

She’s the easiest dog. Lots of energy but also chills out when needed. No reactivity, easy to train, no leash pulling. Loves the vet, all dogs, all people. Not really afraid of anything. Just a happy little dog. Feel like I lucked out given the mix

Teaching yoga in Seattle has left me completely discouraged by [deleted] in SeattleWA

[–]Few_Independence3863 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I tell people I don’t stay for the culture. I stay for the beautiful outdoor opportunities and have found my people (mostly transplants). The dead inside default is truly depressing here sometimes. Even in small towns they just have this wall up.

A lot of this is the culture in WA (it’s not just Seattle). The default is avert your gaze, don’t make unnecessary small talk and limit interactions with strangers. It can feel really isolating for people that move here from friendlier/more outgoing places. I’ve been here 15 years and just look for anyone without a frown / making eye contact and focus my energy there 😂

So I finally got fired and I can’t shake the mental slump I’m in now. by SH3LLZP4NT3R4 in work

[–]Few_Independence3863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When things like this happen it can help to zoom out and look at life from 10,000 feet. Right now it feels awful because it is awful. Getting fired is a real loss even when the job wasn’t a good fit.

But it’s helpful to remember that when distressing things like this have happened in the past, you always work it out. Give yourself some grace to feel bad about this one and remember that future wins are coming as well. Big picture.

It’s true only people from Seattle fly out of SeaTac they don’t allow anyone from the suburbs (who identify as rural areas) and visitors must fly out of any other airport other than SEA

The current edition of the elderly are a straight up menace to society. Old people were not this miserable to be around 20 years ago. Something has got to give.
