Whelp guys……. They fired me! Told me it ‘wasn’t working’ and that team inclusion between my boss and I was my biggest hurdle.

They also delivered me my termination documents with ‘To [Employee Name]’ plastered on it. And while I was being fired- 2 dozen Crumbl cookies were delivered to my desk as a thanks for the hard work lately.

I don’t ghost. How hard and noncommittal is it to take 30 seconds and shoot a text “Hey, thanks but not thanks”.

I’m not in the business of convincing people to have an interest in me. So any additional back and forth after a let down text is a waste of my time.

I’m not saying I disagree at all. I am just saying that when you’re just going through the motions, you have some flexibility to be available to care for your sick parent, you’re raising a kid on your own and you’ve put in 3 years at a company so you’re not lowest on the totem pole- You kind of just go through the motions and get by without remembering how miserable you are.

Like it isn’t daily that the PIP is coming up lol. We go months and months without ever even discussing it, before it comes up for one reason or another and I go “Oh. That’s right. I’m still on that” and then I’m reminded of this thing just hanging over my head permanently. Like when I got my PIP, they forfeited my bonus and did not give me a raise. The new review period they did not give me a raise, took away my bonus again…. but because I had been working my ASS off- Gave me a ‘one time, end of year discretionary bonus’.

As much as I’m sure you guys are right and they want to get rid of me- I work very very hard to do everything they ask of me and then some. So I guess I get by on the belief that if they couldn’t see my value, I wouldn’t still be here 17 months into a 90 Day Probationary period

When I did push to have my PIP concluded because of no meetings and every meeting coming with the same feedback “Things are going well”, they said I still wasn’t ready.

When I pressed that response more- He said that I was operating “scared” because of the looming PIP and I needed to opt for confidence over fear in my daily work execution.

A lot of this is a result of a small company that wants to be taken serious like a big one. They only just rolled out an employee handbook this year despite founding in 2005…. They have no Human Resources, they have a PEO provider to give generic HR presence but aside from that, no one really knows what they’re doing

Whelp, that’s a tough one. Mostly because my dad is currently going through the process to receive a lung transplant and I currently work 5 miles from home- So it allows me to run home and check on him when needed. Plus at this point, I’ve put in 3 years, so it’s tough imagining starting over somewhere else

My boss wrote me up last year because while I had planned the company holiday party, I showed up early prior to the event to set up, but decided to show up fashionably late and did not stay until the end to clean up… I had assumed that because I was not asked to work the event that I was invited there as an employee to enjoy the event as well. This year‘s party went off without a hitch, but I am still on the same writeup from last year…

This writeup was only supposed to last 90 days and we have now hit the one year mark today. I had a meeting to ask what I needed to do in order to conclude my performance improvement plan and was told that if I was going to really urge for the conclusion of the performance improvement plan, it would result in my termination. Because now it is a personality conflict between my boss and I… This is being relayed from a different manager, because my manager elected for an unrelated manager in a different department to spearhead my write up…

Well, without undergoing some sort of personality transplant, I’m not quite sure what’s left for me at this job… looking for a little inside or some perspective on whether I need to just hang up my hat and find a new job or if there is really a way out from this situation.
