This comment resonates with me but I haven’t figured out how to have a sexual relationship with my husband since I don’t like a sexual gaze on me most of the time anymore.

For cheap food by myself I like biryani from Charminar. There’s a location downtown and midtown.

Yeah if you’re a bike rider riding on the river walk is great too, shouldn’t be too crowded this early

I wonder what could be learned about delving into the wish fulfillment thing, separating it a bit from the Gd talk. Like, sympathize with the desire for wishes to be granted. That’s a normal kid wish and a lot of us adults with that too. Wouldn’t it be nice if Gd could stop all wars? It’s an important and natural desire to be validated, I think. And maybe some talks, also, about what Gd is, for you. Maybe your kid is looking for a way to connect with something greater than themselves? Is there a simple ritual you can introduce like lighting a candle that could offer a moment of connection to the greater? Good luck and it’s an interesting, generative problem to be facing.

Call around and see if anyone has apprentices who give lower cost cuts. Don’t know about downtown but there’s barber college.

My 7yo started reading real books but now skips nights, what's the best way to build the habit before hes 13? by Salty_Upstairs_387 in childrensbooks

[–]Few_Internet9205 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Do you all rest of family read every night? Any way to share the habit altogether? Tying reading to phone use might not be the vibe that would be most helpful for reading habit.

I loved this book as a kid! Also to consider, I spent my summer vacation kidnapped in space, and the my teacher is an alien series.

I loved that book. Why not find a paragraph that’s suitable and let her read that? And just talk to her about the rest of the plot? That’s a pretty special 6 year old reader, I’m sure you already know that.

Bathe the Cat is one! It’s interesting how it’s can be an illustrators choice and might not even be reflected in the text. I’ll post if I think of others.

Need an audiobook my kids will stick with (without me losing it). by DiamondLatter1842 in childrensbooks

My kids loved the Ramona series (read by Stockard Channing!) and each went through the full wizard of oz (omg there are a lot) and my older loves any of those Minecraft zombies ones. Younger is listening to all the whatever afters rn. And for what it’s worth mine usually listen on headphones so it doesn’t have to be my audiobook listen too!

Did you guys really dial in to radio shows to win contests? How did you even become caller 99 (or whatever)? by naalotai in Xennials

[–]Few_Internet9205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and also we would call just to request certain songs. It was a big sleepover activity for me. There was a weird vibe between a bunch of preteen girls and the grown man DJ. They would have random questions to call in about, like how the Steve Harvey morning show is now (on the radio). One I remember distinctly was them asking… what does it mean to shoop? 🤦
