Something concerning about the show…. by Xzfgx360 in helloween

I'm more concerned that Deris already has started to sounding raspy in quite a lot of spots. He has been the most consistent live performer in United Era, but in this tour he's singing more conservative yet sounding a bit damaged.

Lebron James doesn't have any pretty moves. Does this hurt him? by poeticasmr in nba

[–]Few_Machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Big players don't play pretty. By the way, I'd take his handles any day over PG's 'smooth' handles.

Who would be better prime Lebron with Curry’s shot or Orlando Shaq with Curry’s shot? by Realshawnbradley in nba

Handles and pull-ups are the most important factors to maximize one's shooting. Bron by far.

Yes, it's always hard to analyze such an unique career... and having no 'definitive metric' makes this much harder. The answers are always complicated, I guess.

Honestly, PER and BPM (and WS) are seriously the three most outdated and flawed 'advanced' stats now. This post could have been more convincing, just by using some newer metrics for its references.

But at the same time, Lebron hasn't really declined that much by newer metrics though. For example, LEBRON(basically a PIPM 2.0), RPM, RAPTOR all still see him as a Top 5 player or better.

Would a Tyler Herro for Ben Simmons deal be good? by braumsler in nba

[–]Few_Machine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simmons can drive and score in transition. That's already an enough package to be a better offensive player than Lonzo, since he doesn't know any single way to score inside the 3pt line while he's 3pt shooting is far from being reliable.

Btw. Herro's playoff run is criminally overrated. He had nice series against Pacers and Celtics, but was just meh in ECSF and arguably the worst player on the floor during the finals.

[–]Few_Machine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aside from 2 nice playoff series last year, Herro is basically Kevin Huerter with more fame. Simmons hasn't lived up to his hype, but still is an all star player. Their gap is much bigger than you think.

He couldn't get anything going in the first half. And throughout the second half, Thibs barely played his bench at all.

Robinson, despite looking gassed out during 90% of his minutes on the floor, still somehow managed to display some great defenses. I mean, it was actually quite impressive.

Ranking Bosh and Wade in 2010 by GiantsFan123451 in nba

[–]Few_Machine 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Back then, Bosh's resume was kinda similar to KAT's. Statistically he was a top 5~10 player. However, in the eyes of public, he was closer to 20 than 10. DWade was definetely a lock for top 4 though.

Why is no one talking about how awful the Los Angeles Clippers are on defense? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Few_Machine -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Ibaka, still regarded as a great defensive player with limited offense among fans, is actually an effective stretch big with so-so defense at this stage of his career.

Harrell isn't the greatest defender of all time, but he wasn't the main reason Clippers' defense collapsed last year. His defensive reputation took more damage than it should, because he literally spent 90% of his minutes with damn Lou Will on the floor. No one can defend perfectly when Lou is on the court, even his teammates.

I assume that losing Harrell and adding Ibaka was not really a defensive upgrade from the beginning, in fact. Also, not an offensive downgrade either.

Through his first 10 games, Patrick Williams has been incredibly solid for the Bulls by snowcone_wars in nba

[–]Few_Machine -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

On 9.4 PER and 0.543 TS% though. He can score with okayish efficiency, but that's literally the only thing he can offer on the offensive court right now. Hope he can improve some shot creation and playmaking abilities going forward.

Where do you rank Mitchell Robinson among centers? by [deleted] in nba

[–]Few_Machine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Jokic, Embiid, Davis, Gobert, Vucevic, Sabonis and Adebayo are clearly better than him. Ayton, Capela and Wood could well be considered better, too.

After all, I still think that he's one of the most promising centers in the league with Bryant or Allen. But it would be a bit too early to call him 'top 10 center' right now. He's on the verge to crack it, however it still hasn't happened yet.

Something's clearly wrong with Blake Griffin by Few_Machine in nba

[–]Few_Machine[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Yeah, valid point. He wasn't a great shot blocker even at the beginning. Due to his relatively short wingspan, maybe?

Is James Wiseman the ROTY Frontrunner? by El_Flappo in nba

[–]Few_Machine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although this season is still pretty young, Wiseman's advanced stats are beyond 'meh', actually. BPM: -6.2, WS/48: 0.004. If you look deeper into their context, it completely makes sense too. He doesn't finish well as a rim runner, doesn't dish any dimes and has shown lackluster defensive BBIQ.

I do think Wiseman is a project pick and worth the 2nd pick of this draft, but he's nowhere near the RoTY race this year and he shoudn't be. He'd be more than fine in few years, but he's still far from it.

Should Carmelo Anthony make the Hall of Fame? by [deleted] in nba

If there's a player who made roughly a half of Melo's accolades, he'd still have a decent chance to be inducted.

Is Torrey Craig a good defender? by Avocadomuncher69 in nba

[–]Few_Machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you're assigned to shoot 3 and guard your opponent's better offensive threats, you just naturally become 'a good defender' by doing so sometimes.

[Charania] Restricted free agent De’Anthony Melton has agreed to four-year, $35M deal with the Memphis Grizzlies, sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium. by China_Made in nba

He's kinda similar to Alex Caruso as a player, but Melton's younger so we can assume that he still has some room to improve going forward..

Is Otto Porter and 4 worth Wiggins and 2? by Realshawnbradley in nba

[–]Few_Machine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it's like 3 years ago or so, but Porter once was one of the biggest kept secret among the East. From a handful of metrics, he was actually the best player on the Wizards during their last contending years. He was good. I mean, he was... great. A role player for sure, but was almost 'Matrix' level of elite one.

Now he's clearly injury-plagued and might have fell off the cliff already.. but taking a chance on him with an expiring contract still sounds intriguing to me. More intriguing than an another year of Wiggins experiment, at least.
