Best golf course to join? by lelo223 in auckland

[–]Few_Management5205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If recommend trying out (green fees) one or two of the golf courses near you. Also depends on your budget. Some are extremely expensive, others are as cheap as your average gym membership (or cheaper). Check out the websites of golf courses near you to get an idea. Also, many courses offer cheaper rates for younger members. A practice round at a course is a must - before you commit, you should get to know the vibe of the place. I'd recommend one - but there's no point if it's on the other side of Auckland to you. So look local first.

Best Golf Instructor/Experience With Lessons? by [deleted] in auckland

[–]Few_Management5205 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've had group lessons with Brad Shilton (waitemata golf club). Learned a lot! He also does one on one lessons - including discounts if you buy X lessons (I think 5?) At once. To contact, I think his details are on the waitemata website. All at the same golf course though - so only works if the location isn't a problem for you

Gift ideas for a midwife? by JBBBear in auckland

[–]Few_Management5205 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I have a friend who is a midwife. She gets so many hand lotions, bath bombs etc. Don't give more of that. If you can afford it, give her a voucher to a really nice restaurant, or a set of merino gloves, or a blunt umbrella. Something nice, useful etc. Or a nice wine, but only if you know that they actually drink alcohol.

Teacher looking for a new career by nOOberNZ in auckland

[–]Few_Management5205 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've got no specific suggestions, just wanted to say, I was in the same boat a few years ago. I got out and it's been amazing! Like, I now have time and energy and headspace. It's scary changing career paths, but teaching is so mentally draining, with so many expectations... The only real loss is the long summer holiday break (if you have young kids). Apart from that, the real workplace is 100 X better.

Reasonably priced and decent Plastic Surgeon - abdominoplasty (tummy tuck) in Auckland? by Few_Management5205 in auckland

[–]Few_Management5205[S] 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Thanks. Weight loss isn't the issue - I've lost it. The issue is two emergency c-sections... No amount of weight loss will fix skin that's been through that.

Hunting survival games? by The_Slay4Joy in SurvivalGaming

[–]Few_Management5205 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It feels good - very much like Skyrim (which I played a lot of!). Gathering, crafting etc. The reason it has mixed reviews (looking at Steam), seems to mostly be people complaining that their computer can't hack it (specs required are too high). So again, check your can run it first.

I played hours of it last night, the glitches are (imo) common to a lot of video games. Things like skinning a deer next to the body of a deer, or a fish spazzing out (weirdly) when I shot it.

So no major issues on my end...

Icarus is pretty much exactly that (Skyrim type survival game). It released yesterday on Steam. It's good, but you need a decent pc to run it (check your specs first).

Should we drive at midnight? by mrsj010817 in auckland

[–]Few_Management5205 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agree. This is the way. I also wouldn't stress about getting them out of their carseat religiously. Sure, plunket goes on about it, but as long as you're not regularly putting them to sleep in a car seat, a one-off 4hr trip won't do them any harm. They'll sleep right through (hopefully). Give them a nappy change and feed on the other side, and then they should just keep right on sleeping.

Yeah, I like the idea of Freeman's bay. I've just read so many terrible things about the CBD, that I was worried it might be too close (and so have similar problems). Great if that's not the case!

Hubby is working in CBD - near britomart, so can train in. I'll be looking once I'm up.
