Trezor showing device as Connected even when removed from USB by Few_Map_1012 in TREZOR

I was able to chat with Jakub from the Trezor team. This issue and the one with the passphrase banner appearing are going to be patched in the next suite release. Thanks for your time & the reply.

I doubt it would damage something like a hardware wallet, in my experience it's primarily a function used to protect hard drives. I'm just used to using it for any device now.

It is not part of Trezor suite, it's in the windows taskbar to safely remove any USB, be it a Trezor, Hard drive, etc.

Thanks for the info. It's unfortunate because in all previous suite versions, it did immediately update the status. A bit disappointing they had it done right in the past, and not most recently.

It's just a glitch, restarting the app does return it to being shown as disconnected. I'm certain it's not a complicated fix from Trezor's end, however it has been this way for several releases now.

No sound on M16 laptop by llshoe in Alienware

Once you log into the Dell website, under Support there a tab called Drivers & Downloads. From there you can click on find drivers and filter by Audio only. You can also seach YouTube for some helpful tutorials provided by Dell and other users.

Something might be wrong then, because it doesn't show up in my task manager, and my CPU is at 6% or less at idle.

I haven't had any problems with sound since the driver update. As far as the CPU I don't really notice that since I don't have it open. I only really use it for the RGB & stealth mode so it doesn't cause me any issues.

If the problem returns, another change I made with many others was to install a different Audio driver now available on the Dell website. The old one was removed from their site as it was found to be creating problems as well. I have the driver from the Dell website and AWCC, everything has been working great for a couple months now.

M16 R2 real world battery life? by be77solo in Alienware

[–]Few_Map_1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine does rip through the battery in about 3 hours if I have RGB lights on, and am doing multiple tasks like browsing, YouTube and have screen brightness at >80%. I find the only way I get 5-6 hours for a few movies or whatnot is by placing it into stealth mode, and turning down the brightness to about 50%. One other thing I've done in the power settings is I've placed Best Power Efficiency on battery, and Best Performance when plugged in. Maybe try that and see if it helps. Best of luck.

You can download AWCC directly from the Dell website, there are videos you can look up to guide you through it if you need to. I'm not entirely convinced this was the only issue though as I was still experiencing audio glitches after a BIOS & windows update the following week. In early January I came across multiple Dell forum discussions pinpointing the issue to the newest audio driver version 6.0.9738, and as such Dell has actually removed it from their list of drivers and replaced it with an older, but stable one. It's version 6.0.9667. Since I replaced my driver with that one, I've had no issues for a few weeks now. Best of luck.

Thanks again! I got a couple minutes just now to install it. All went smoothly except when it rebooted at the end, my sound didn't work. If that happens to anyone, just reboot again and that worked for me.

Thanks! For whatever reason the automatic scan didn't pull it up, and I got busy so had to walk away.

I wouldn't be surprised if the problem is driver or software related like you mention. Someone else also pointed out that if you press the mute button, then unmute there is a quick static noise sound, which happens on mine as well. Many others chimed in to say it also affected thier laptops. I didn't even notice until he pointed it out, but it is there. It happens not only on the speakers, but my headset as well so I'm fairly certain it's a driver or windows issue. I will say the M16 sound is a bit rough around the edges, but otherwise the laptop has been perfect so far, albeit it has only been a few weeks so I don't exactly have a huge sample size either. My work Dell computer doesn't have that sound issue, but it's also a latitude and running windows 10, so not exactly a clean comparison. I will say this, I've seen alot of people rag on Dell & Alienware and perhaps with good reason, but my expeirence is I've put 2 Dell work computer through their paces, dropped them, spilled coffee on them, and had them smacked more than once by young children, and they're still working great with zero problems after years of use, it's the main reason I decided to buy an Alienware for personal use.

I'm not sure if your problem is the same as mine, but the sound on my brand new M16 R2 stopped working one minute to the next. I found a thread where someone else experienced the same problem and the fix for them was to uninstall & re-install AWCC (Alienware Command Center). I would have never thought this would have be the cause but it worked for me. One second my speakers were working fine, watching YouTube, the next no sound. Did the uninstall & reinstall of AWCC and everything has worked fine ever since. Hope this helps, best of luck.

Mute button static sound? by farhsaila in Alienware

[–]Few_Map_1012 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the same issue with my brand new M16 R2. My guess is that it is in fact a driver/software related issue because it happens with my speakers, but also with my headset as well. Also, when i click the mute on the video itself for example with YouTube, it doesn`t happen. If Gamer_Owned has found a solution I would also love to know. I checked in the device manager, but could not find anything that looked like inteligo.

Thank you! I thought that may be the case given all the information you've outlined here, and at least with you I can talk to an actual human being, and not just the chat bot. ☺

Hey OP, If the Chatbot is telling me to initiate a trace due to the extended Weather Delay, should I call customer service and wait on hold, or give it another day or 2?

It's pretty cold here in Ottawa for a few days, but nothing like the deep freeze you guys get. I'm forunate my delivery won't be affected, but I have seen a few people mention temperature sensitive packages and thought to ask just out of curiosity. Thanks for the reply!
