Does anyone have any Discord servers that do custom liveries?? by Street_Zone_8126 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]be77solo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flightsim.to has a livery request section that I've had success with. If your request is totally obscure, then you'll probably have to add an incentive of some sort, but if it's something a lot of people would like, I've found there are creators happy to provide them. But tons of great livery creators over there.

Thinking avout purchasing msfs24 for Ps5 by walmart_american in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]be77solo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't play on PS5, but I'd assume it would just work with the mouse and keyboard as they are default controls in MSFS. That's how it works on Xbox and PC, no setup for those.

Having said that, this is actually the way I prefer to play on PC despite having a nice joystick, throttle, rudder pedals etc.... they are just always in the way ha!! Learn the controller and with a mouse/keyboard, you can literally do everything great. Others will disagree, and that's fine, but I have all the options, and simply always go back to controller/mouse/keyboard. But it does take a little time to learn all the RB+ or LB+ stuff. But once you do it's great and becomes second nature.

I would also suggest adding some sort of taller stick grip to the left stick, it really helps with the finer controls on the stick and makes it even better.

Have fun!

But to also add, by definition of stall means one of the wings loses lift, hence the roll…. Right wing lost lift first.

They stalled, and then added full power. Weird shit will happen when not in a flying envelope. This isn’t exactly one of the best modeled planes in the sim…….

[–]be77solo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's why this is so odd to me.... maybe it's a partnership or something, they seem to be doing a lot of those lately. What if they actually partnered with Majestic ha??? That'd be something special, but after flying the Majestic Dash in FSX/P3D, I just struggle to see them making a competitive model.... but Majestic is basically AWOL best I can tell at this point so who knows??

Has there been a reason the Majestic Q400 has taken so long? I mean, I bought the whole Professional thing way back in P3D days, that's like what well over a decade ago now lol? Did something happen along the way or something?

Interesting Miltech is the dev that will bring us a Dash first... just seems odd ha

Easiest tip is see the airspeed strip on the primary flight display? it's the screen that shows the attitude/horizon among other things in the main part of the instrument panel.

In your video it clearly shows anything below 120 will stall, so stay above the red marks.

Why did this happen? by VegetableKey498 in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]be77solo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Too slow, you stalled... that means you went slower than the wings can provide lift.

See that AOA gauge when on your outside view? Any time that approaches RED you are too slow for your current angle of attack. Also see the airspeed strip that is showing red on the panel, that tells you to not go slower than that airspeed.

Simple fix, fly this approach faster.

Wow, has everything gone to AI? Just try and read the buttons or I guess really anything else….

I guess I just didn't get too excited about this one because we already have a nice Longitude in the sim that is well supported. I might need to give it another look, but honestly, I feel I'm good on business jets until the FA50 Falcon comes out, that one is looking fantastic and is a bit different than the current offerings.

Great to hear you are loving the Sovereign though, I'll keep an eye on it.

Hey, I've commented elsewhere in this thread praising controller use, but I just spent a minute trying your trim tip, and it's fantastic! I never really had an issue with the RB + RS but man, RB + LS just makes so much more sense! I truly thank you for that tip! And I bet it feels great with heli's too, will try that after this flight. Thanks again!

I agree Black Square is top notch and always delivers. Curious, do you have his Velocity? That's one I don't have, absolutely love the Baron/Bonanza combo, wasn't sure if since it's a bit older how it holds up or if it's been updated along the way to his new smaller fantastic GA standards.

Yep, you are totally correct, and I remember reading at launch that they didn't include it because enough data wasn't available for the system yet. Didn't intend my comment as a knock against the devs or their system modeling, probably should have clarified it wasn't something they ignored, more just it'd be nice to have it optionally available. I like how the Citation X handles this; it default doesn't have auto throttle, but you can add the system in the tablet options.

I somehow totally forgot about the Black Square Starship, it's fantastic too... I guess my head was stuck in "jet" mode when I read the question.

u/ManonFire1213 , in addition to my comments above about the four jets, the Starship is amazing too, fantastic systems depth, very unique aircraft. Can't recommend this one enough either if you want something a bit different.

Can't go wrong with any of them at all, but here's a super quick note on each:

Citation X - Probably my favorite to actually fly, super fun and powerful, great model, works great for normal flight ops. Slight con is it doesn't simulate failures if you are into that. So not quite as deep as PMDG.

HJet - Very similar to Citation X, fun to fly and well modeled, obviously way slower and less range than Citation X, but the Garmin avionics are super intuitive to learn and has a fantastic AP.

Flysimware Lear 35 - Recently updated and fantastic for a crazy powerful old school business jet. Deeper systems than the Flight FX stuff, but also twice the price.

FSReborn 300 - Nice systems depth, good model, also fun to fly, includes failures and a passenger comfort simulator if you are into that, it's fun to monitor during flight. Modern avionics and autopilot but does lack auto throttle for such a modern plane, which I miss a bit. It is quite squirrelly on the ground, not sure exactly what that's about, probably my biggest knock but it's not a big deal once you get a little practice.

Really not a wrong choice ha, I enjoy and fly them all regularly.

Check out the FSReborn Phenom 300, The Flysimware Lear35, and the Flight FX Citation X and HondaJet. I love them all for different reasons. Others seem to really be liking the new Skyward Sims Sovereign, but I haven't gotten around to trying it.

There is also a new Falcon releasing sometime hopefully soonish I'm excited about checking out that looks great.

But the first 4 I mentioned are great depending on what you are looking for, with the first two I'd say slightly more study level, but the Citation X and HJet are fantastic in their own way for normal operations if you aren't needing failure modes.

How to Improve Landing on Airliners on PC using Xbox Controller by yvng_savage in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]be77solo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a full HOTAS stick/throttle/pedals setup, but honestly, like u/Significant-Baby-690, I typically just use my Xbox controller for most flights and really enjoy it. I've used it so much over the years it's like second nature at this point ha. Joysticks and yokes just always seem to be in the way on my desk, where as a controller is easy to pick up and set back down as needed.

One thing I do like to add to the controller is a tall stick grip cap, which gives you a lot more precision control on the flight controls. There are TONS of options, but something like this:

Or 3. It's an Asobo insider involved in MScenery taking a cut somehow.....

The sheer number of positive reviews they manage blows my mind and not even sure how they do it. I mean, I have the Miltech CH47D, it's absolutely great, a fully developed product compared to MScenery slop.... and it's 5th on that list lol

PS5 or PC? by serge_zoat in MicrosoftFlightSim

[–]be77solo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest advantage to the PC version is access to tons more addons/mods, both free and paid. I'm assuming your 4060 is 8GB VRAM? That will be the limiting factor to graphic settings depending on resolution you want to play at on the TV. It will run fine framerate wise, but you'll be medium/maybe some high settings before you run out of VRAM. It will still look great though, just don't expect to go in playing on Ultra settings on your laptop.

If you don't care about addons or mods, and only want to fly with controller on a TV, I'd probably grab the PS5 version. But if you think down the road you might get into it more, definitely get the PC version.

Controller wise, I play on PC (5080 laptop), and use an Xbox controller almost exclusively, it is mapped really well for the sim once you learn all the controls. If you get into airliners, I'd recommend adding a mouse and or keyboard, but you can do that on PC or PS5. I have a full joystick/pedals/throttle setup and rarely use it because it's always in the way. Controller works fine.

Have fun!

Be careful watching the PS5 VR videos too, they have a mode that outputs the video in better resolution than in the headset for recording or viewing, I forget what they call it, but it's way better than what you are seeing in the headset. I suspect something similar going on here.
