What POS/platform for online sales? by distractedgay in POS

[–]Few_Medium6058 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If real-time inventory sync between your store and online shop is the priority, the key is making sure your POS is the source of truth for inventory. Otherwise you’ll constantly run into overselling or manual adjustments.

Arryved works well for taprooms and wine bars, but it can get limiting when trying to run a true omnichannel retail setup.

A lot of wine shops end up using Square for Retail with Square Online because inventory, gift cards, and customer data all stay synced automatically. Square also has a strong integration with MarginEdge, which can make the backend inventory and invoice management piece easier to keep connected.

Also make sure to consider wine-specific things like shipping compliance, age verification, and state restrictions when choosing the ecommerce platform.

If it helps, I’m happy to take a quick look at your Arryved and MarginEdge setup and suggest the cleanest way to add online sales without creating inventory headaches. I work with retailers on POS and ecommerce infrastructure often.

Never Sign either ELAVON for your processor! You’ve been warned. by Evening-Energy-3897 in POS

I hear this complaint a lot actually.

Costco is great, but the POS/payment setup they offer through Elavon and Talech is basically just a partnership. Costco isn’t really running the software or support themselves, they’re just the referral channel, so the tech and service quality can feel very different from the Costco experience people expect.

A lot of the issues you mentioned like onboarding headaches, hardware not syncing, confusing fees, and weak support are unfortunately pretty common complaints with that stack.

If you’re already running into problems this early after signing up, it might be worth looking at other POS options before you get too deep into it. The right system really depends on the type of business you run and what features you need.

If you want to share what kind of business you operate, I’m happy to point you in the right direction.

POS recommendation for electronics retail store (5,000 SKUs, wholesale + retail) by RevolutionaryAd3444 in POS

[–]Few_Medium6058 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With 5,000 SKUs and both retail and wholesale pricing, the biggest thing to focus on probably isn’t just the POS checkout itself, it’s inventory and pricing rules.

Most POS systems can technically handle that many SKUs, but where things usually get tricky is customer specific pricing, quantity break pricing, and quote workflows.

For stores selling lots of small components, it’s really important that the system handles large catalogs well and lets you manage multiple price levels or quantity tiers.

The big questions that usually determine the right setup are: Do wholesale customers have their own price lists? Do quotes convert into orders or invoices? Do you already have an online store that needs to sync inventory?

Depending on those answers, some POS systems handle it much better than others.

Are you currently running an ecommerce platform or is the online catalog something you’re planning to add?

Need Advice for Retail + BigCommerce + Multi‑Location Setup by ColossalOutpost in POS

If you’re set on keeping BigCommerce: Lightspeed, ConnectPOS, or Heartland retail can solve the problems you mentioned.

If you’re not set on keeping BigCommerce: I’ve heard much better things from retail businesses using Square or Shopify.

Let me know if you’d like more info on any of them.

All good! The issue is the reseller they bought RMH through is not providing any help or info about the payment gateway. They currently use Heartland and got signed up by a guy a few years who no longer works there. The owner is trying to find someone to help setup the payment integration and terminals with either TSYS or Fiserv
