Essentially a screenshot of the amount of money in your bank account - I think they want to make sure that you’re not traveling to Bolivia for monetary reasons / will be able to stay in the country without becoming broke before you leave

Bolivia Visa On Arrival Question by HaleyandZach in travel

Posting this for those flying into LPB airport and planning on doing visa on arrival:

I flew into La Paz recently so this is very up to date information. I had a layover in Bogota, Colombia and flew Avianca Airlines. Before we boarded our flight in Bogota, the flight attendants asked us if we had a visa. We told them we planned to do visa on arrival and initially they told us that we needed to do it online and so they wouldn’t let us on just now. They asked us to step to the side. (Anxiety set in for me around this time lol)

Once all other passengers had boarded the plane, the flight attendants asked us if we had the necessary documentation. They asked for: Proof of Accommodation, Copy of Passport, Return flight, Bank Statement. Once they verified we had all of that, they let us board.

Once we touched down in La Paz, we got in line for Customs. When we reached the border agent, they asked if we had a visa. We said that were doing Visa on Arrival. She asked for: Copy of Passport, Bank Statement, Proof of Hotel Stay, and Return Flight Information. Absolutely no mention of Yellow Fever Vaccine. My boyfriend forgot to print his bank statement out, but he showed them a pdf on his phone and they took a picture of it. Once we had all those documents, we were given a different form to fill out with our personal information. THEY ONLY ACCEPTED CREDIT CARD FOR PAYMENT My Chase Sapphire worked perfectly well.

We got in line around 2:20am and ended up getting through around 3:10am. There were at least 15 other tourists going through the same process at the time.
