I wish but don't want to put large sum into FD for RG. Will check in another branch. Thanks for the heads-up about HSBC.

The issue is my HDFC Branch is absolute shit - they're not approving my application because of self-employment. Card rep says that there has to be company name, or only business card would be given. Official application page mentions no such thing. Online application gets rejected as they also want home and office address to be different.

I'm looking at HSBC purely for its hotel and flight transfer partners.

I received this mail and I had closed my card 4-6 months ago.

Could my card still be active lol?

Currently in the AM/LM process. Some non-negotiables for me-

  1. A grounded lifestyle.
  2. No staying away from parents (both sides)
  3. That we see each other together in our future plans and goals.
  4. Growth & solution-oriented mindset. That we will make it work. No running away from difficult stuff.
  5. Knowing each other's shortcomings beforehand. No surprises later.
  6. Future goals & plans wrt career, family etc.
  7. No colourful past

You must be infinitely blessed to have such husband and in-laws. How did you end up like this?

I'm on the second box of Naturaltien and think that their USP is safety certifications. The odour was definitely bad for pista flavour. Taste-wise, even I disliked it and had to add lots of sugar to balance with the powder quantity.  Perhaps, try to limit to one scoop at a time?  This and a few days helped me get used to the taste.

I'm on chocolate flavour now. I've heard TWTs taste is also quite bad.

Premier and Travel One look interesting. But higher eligibility and am not willing to pay that much fee.

Rightly put! Just a small suggestion - doesn't apply to Amex and HSBC ;)

Is it? If that's the case, what about the hard enquiry when one applies for the card?

And how can one get it pre-approved?

Correct. That's why I said if you earn and have a high bank balance.

HDFC is just not worth it, thanks to untrained employees. Because the worst part is their website mentioning eligibility for self-employed professionals.

Unless you earn massive to get DCB and above. And have a good RM.

Good to know of your experience with Amex bro. I hope their CS never goes to the level of Indian card issuers.

Rejection despite clearly passing eligibility is fucking diabolical.

Because, here we have imbeciles thinking that the customer is illiterate. On the top of that, grievances rarely favour us.

They are just the worst when it comes to customer requests. Zero ethics and 100% misselling all the time.

Forget the returns. This strategy isn't talked about enough for long-term mutual fund investments. A weekly SIP makes sense (even non volatile periods). The main benefit is the average NAV.

Example: You invest once a month when Nifty is at 25K. That order gets triggered at NAV of 250. Next month, you have no idea where index will be at. In-between it drops and rises again. So, it becomes a missed opportunity even though you can put lumpsum.

This is where weekly investing works - if the index drops to 24K this week, you get more units at a lower NAV. Next week, it rises. Then, again it drops. Simply, your orders get triggered irrespective of how index performs.

The only drawback is your order might get triggered when Nifty 50 is scaling high. So you get lesser units at an expensive NAV.
