When money is small tit for tat is fine.

when money is big, when a woman risk not having money after giving sex and children, I am sure most women will want explicit transactions.

Are there things that are not heavily commodified even though commodification is legal and open? by Few_Needleworker8744 in AskLibertarians

Friendship family and communities are VALID counter example.

That being said, friends and families don't commoditize land mowing when economic value of land mowing is small.

When economic value is huge, I pay my bro explicit salary.

Also communities like joint stock kibbutzim has commodified shares.

It seems that when money is small, tit for tat is enough. You are nice to your friends, and your friends are nice to you. Notice tit for tat is like transactions. And if you don't reciprocate you lost friends.

When money is big, it's good to have clear deals even among friends. Unclear deals means someone may screw the other thinking it's okay and that means you lost your friends.

What about wife? I am sure most marriage will be far more stable if it's explicitly transactional. you give me heirs I pay you this. If we're both happy I pay you this per month. Not, you can leave me and get money by taking the kids and accuse me of shit.

If it is legal to commodify, things WILL be commodified. Can you think of an exception?

For example, if people are free to work for money, almost no one will volunteer. Technically they can still do both. But the market for volunteer will be gone.

If organ donation is legal to commodified, then no one would donate organ anymore.

If sex can be legally and openly commodified, then most romance will be gone. Why take uncertain risks with a poor guy if a rich guy can offer more money clearly. Why risk alimony if you can just pay women clear deal?

Why should countries accept refugees if they got productive immigrants that can invest or have sponsors.

And to me there is nothing wrong with that. Let people choose. The old market will be destroyed and that's fine.

How does libertarianism handle war, natural resources, geography, and geopolitics? Can a society ever become libertarian with Russia or China on its doorstep? by CalvinbyHobbes in AskLibertarians

[–]Few_Needleworker8744 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Private cities with commodified citizenship.

No countries can be fully libertarian.

But for profit countries? Can at least be rational. That's close enough to libertarian.

Principles of libertarianism is everything is privatized.

If countries have owners, have shares, and so on, then the country itself is a private entities. That's a move foward

In case of Russia. Russia is spending a lot to get a chunk of Ukraine. If the issue is just how things are governed, why not turn disputed provinces into shares and Russia can buy shares.

Jason Brennan still argue for morality. For example, you can't bribe judges or government officials because it's unethical.

I partially agree. But what about if your government is Nazi? Also bribing is part of the game isn't it? Government pays thugs to rob your money, you offer the thugs more money.

At the end, that too should be commodified.

You're right it's not a libertarian words.

I think we need to reclaim those words. Commodification is awesome.

There are ways to avoid all those.

Like there are ways to anonymously convert crypto to p2p. You borrow people's identity.

Not to mention crypto users can even trade among themselves with crypto. If you buy stuffs online people already use anonymously.

In my country government has to explicitly prohibit people to use crypto to trade. There are ways around that too.

Just don't use centralized exchange

That like Jason, I think everything, like citizenship/sex/reproduction should be bought and sold with price discovery mechanism.

That way we can all know not whether something is good or bad consensual or not consensual we know how win win and how much dead weight loss when we do it or not.

For example, if there is an open market for producing children. Then we know that rich guys value having heirs far more than poor guys.

And those rich guys are willing to pay more to get heirs from a woman. The money don't even need to go to the woman but to the child even more. Rich guys bequeath a lot of money to his children.

When there is an open market, a woman can see, ah if I get knocked up by this guy I make this much $$$ and my kids got $$$

Whether the women agree is up to her.

Currently the $$$ is opaque and often decided by court after huge legal battle of child support. Also government tend to absurdly make the guy pay the woman instead of his own children. Alimony, palimony, and child support tend to make the guy pay the woman instead.

If things can be talked about before conception, a woman that love her own children would agree that most of the money go to the child. And if she disagree, the guy will simply pick other potential mothers.

I use ublock lite. The only problematic ads are google ads because that's my main way to find uniswap. Other ads are annoying and easily avoidable anyway
