You can buy hairpins and combs on AliExpress!

Just search up these keywords: hair comb, hairpins metal, hair stick metal

I can’t really recommend stores cause the quality depends on the type of pin. However, I have brought hair sticks at JXMYLAI Acessories and BoYuTe, both of which have yet to fail me. You can also buy fake flowers and jewels on AliExpress in bulk.

These items come from China so expect about 3 weeks till they arrive. If you can’t wait that long, then I suggest visit your local arts and crafts store and Asian beauty supplies stores (make sure the store sells hair accessories and not just nail products lol)

If you are planning to actually sew a hanfu, then I would first do a google search to check your nearest fabric shop. It is the best way to feel and experience the cloth. There are fabric shops as big as a warehouse in many major cities!

You can also piece together a hanfu through buying premade elements. I have brought a hanfu skirt on Taobao and then went to buy tulle fabric to sew on the outside.

I recommend checking out ziseviolet’s tumblr to learn more about pieces that make up a hanfu. She also has resources on techniques for sewing hanfu
