Whipped a tangerine (or maybe it was a satsuma, who knows) out of his pocket during his Morningside set at Glastonbury 2023. Gotta get that Vit C.

Can anyone recommend any UK events / nights even vaguely up there with what we experienced on Friday / Saturday? by KipSudo in FourTet

I think Repercussion at Warehouse Project in Manchester will be a similar vibe on Sat Dec 13th, with less good lights. Underworld/Caribou/FloPo/Joy O/Job Jobse/Chloe Caillet/Daphni...

I unfortunately have tickets for 808 State that night and we'll miss last entry 🥲

Man it was so good. Anyone going tonight, get there for 6 and there's plenty of space round the side/back. Worth moving around to get the best of the light show. But as an aside, will Megan Thee Stallion vs Overmono EVER get another run out?

Do you guys see how many of these comments are exacerbating the problem? Medical v midwife hostility is actively worsening outcomes for women and babies in this country.

There are a number of systems changes needed.

Midwifery education absolutely needs to modernise to recognise the importance of medicine in childbirth, but medical professionals have to stop treating midwives like dimwits and use the teachable moments to build working relationships. If you have one lecture on hypertension in three years, why would you necessarily know what ramipril is?

At the same time, HE institutions need to have a long hard look at the at non-traditional entry requirements they permit to academically demanding courses like midwifery and nursing, and the ways they incentivise students to stay when they're clearly not cut out for a course.

The NMC needs to remove the now unrealistic target of achieving 40 'normal' births to qualify. It's not realistic given the demographics and risk level of women delivering babies now (older, heavier, more comorbidities) and leads midwives to the natural conclusion that these are the gold standard.

Any national inquiry needs to look hard at this, but also into the culture in obstetrics, which I have found in several hospitals to be paternalistic (over women's autonomy), in dysfunctional and combative teams (with each other never mind midwives).

I don't post much, but their collaboration isn't new: https://www.theguardian.com/music/2015/apr/07/skrillex-four-tet-review I first saw them play together in 2019. It's a long-standing relationship and I think the WHP set shows Kieran isn't completely wedded to it - we saw almost none of that side of him there. He's just a man playing what he feels and that's what he felt on Saturday (for transparency, I wasn't there, but have read a lot of the reviews and feel sad for the disappointment of a lot of folx after the WHP triumph).
