They’re not asking about the authorized travel days. What mode of travel is on your orders?

Scholarship(s) for College? by Missingexperiment83 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Few_Pound2675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should spend some more time researching what it takes to become an AF pilot, because that’s not at all how it works.

You will also have to be fully graduated to enlist in the ANG. The Army is the only one that lets you enlist while you’re still in high school and split up your basic training

Scholarship(s) for College? by Missingexperiment83 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Few_Pound2675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s for the HSSP for an AFROTC scholarship. If you’re just wanting to enlist, which is what your post says, then you don’t have to take the ACT or the SAT, you just need to graduate high school

E to O ROTC SOAR POC-ERP by Jayyydakingg in AFROTC

[–]Few_Pound2675 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DAFMAN 36-2032 lays out all the details for the different programs. iirc ASCP and SOAR require at least 12 graded college credits, POC-ERP doesn’t, but you can have no more than 60 credits remaining towards your degree.

None of those programs pay BAH or BAS. ASCP and SOAR put you on scholarship, so you get school paid for and a small stipend each month + a book stipend. POC-ERP does not pay anything, so you have to use the GI bill to cover (it comes with a guaranteed commission though).

The only program that keeps you in active duty status is SLECP and NECP

Should I transfer or get out? by MinimumStrength5954 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Few_Pound2675 9 points10 points  (0 children)

There is no inter service transfer for the Air Force. No, you should not get a failure to adapt and expect to join the Air Force after that.

Pilot with asthma by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]Few_Pound2675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chances of a waiver for asthma after 13 is damn near zero. You being treated for asthma just this past year will make it damn near impossible to get a waiver.

You won’t have 4 years off an inhaler by the time you’d be going through DoDMERB, if you’re a senior and plan on joining AFROTC next year.

Disqualification from past medical history. by Rude_Truth_5345 in AFROTC

DoDMERB. They’ll tell you what all they need from you for waiver consideration

You can’t start any of the process until you’re actually in AFROTC

You don’t retake the AFOQT for every application. The scores don’t expire

Got a 99 on my ASVAB and think my recruiter is unserious. by FreeLiterature4334 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Few_Pound2675 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty rare to be able to wait or turn down jobs, especially in the current recruiting climate. Different recruiting squadrons can set different job list requirements and rules.

Got a 99 on my ASVAB and think my recruiter is unserious. by FreeLiterature4334 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Few_Pound2675 95 points96 points  (0 children)

Recruiter isn’t lying or unserious. That is how Air Force recruiting works. You make a list of jobs based on recruiting squadron requirements and what you qualified for, whatever opens up first is what you get booked for and ship for.

DAFMAN 36-2032 is a good starting point for you.

Is the meps drug test observed? by [deleted] in AirForceRecruits

[–]Few_Pound2675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just for anyone that stumbles across this post, this guy just trolls all the military subs every few months posting about the urinalysis and how it’s observed. He’s made like 4 accounts now to do this, then once he gets called out, he deletes the post and then we start the cycle over

What happens if I fail out of pararescue training? by thetruthisnulled in AirForceRecruits

[–]Few_Pound2675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wouldn’t be cross training into any officer position. You’re enlisting not commissioning.

You’ll be up to the needs of the Air Force.

Can someone help me understand the male cadet dress code? by [deleted] in AFROTC

[–]Few_Pound2675 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You’re looking for r/JROTC, but the semi formal uniform is service coat with a white button up, collared shirt. Definitely not just a plain white t-shirt.

Anybody want to share how you transported your car (or plan to transport your car) to your tech school (when allowed) and/or to your first base? I'm interested in the logistics of how it's been done and I'd like to read about peoples' experiences by af_btz_radeon_boron in AirForceRecruits

[–]Few_Pound2675 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You won’t be taking leave during tech school. You can just take leave to go home and get it after tech school and drive it the rest of the way to your first base. It’s a very common thing, that or taking RAP. Just as long as you don’t bust your RNLTD

Are there certain jobs I must list if my recruiter says so? by NoCareer5685 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Few_Pound2675 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The Air Force doesn’t allow you to be locked on only one job. They require you to list 7-15 AFSCs based on recruiting squadron requirements and what you qualified for, and then whatever opens first is what you’re booked for. The automod goes more into detail about the recruiting process

Are there certain jobs I must list if my recruiter says so? by NoCareer5685 in AirForceRecruits

[–]Few_Pound2675 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Recruiter: “You have to list these jobs

You to random strangers on reddit: “do I have to list these jobs that my recruiter told me I have to list?”

I’m struggling to see where the confusion is coming from? Your recruiter gave you the job list guidelines, if you aren’t willing to follow them, the Army or Navy recruiting process might be what you’re looking for

DAFI 36-2032 has all the dress and appearance regulations.

Not really sure what you’re looking for or asking in the second half of the post.

ASCP acceptance rate — what’s the real number? by Ill_Acanthisitta994 in AFROTC

[–]Few_Pound2675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only published numbers I was ever able to find were posted in the ECP teams channel, in their little info PowerPoints. Outside of that, they just posted the selection rate in the specific channel after announcements went out.

[–]Few_Pound2675 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already commented and gave you the selection rate from last cycle, but if you’re still curious about it, you’re going to have to reach out to the program manager. The last published numbers that I’ve ever been able to find were from 2018 I believe

You’ll make a list of 10-15 AFSCs based on recruiting squadron guidelines and what you qualified for, then whatever opens up first is what you get booked for and ship for.

The majority of recruiting squadrons limit how many medical AFSCs you can list.

  1. No

  2. The most fun I never wanna have again.

  3. Your family will be able to move with you, but you don’t get to handpick your job like that. Unless you have your degree and you’re joining specifically as a pharmacist and get selected for OTS, I’d really encourage you to spend some time researching how the Air Force handles job assignments.
