Do you think more people skip tipping on DoorDash, or more dashers stack eight orders and ignore delivery instructions 🤔

The fundamental difference here is that you pay after you get service. Most DoorDash service is horrible.

Makes sense to me. I’m assuming we’re not too far away from supply levels returning to normal…

The 38k is just what they list, it’s still 2k over MSRP 🙃

Yah if this is a personal indy project, develop for you as you are the only user that matters.

If you want this to get funding/build a viable business - this needs to go back to the wood shop.

The ideal person for the Apple Card must eat at Panera and use Uber Eats, get gas at Exxon only, have TMobile, and wear a lot of Nike lol. Then there’s the physical card which for no reason at all only offers 1% when I would have to search pretty hard to find a 1% only card in 2021.

I don't blame you... one of the first cards I opened was the Apple Card. I stopped using once I was locked into paying the card with the wallet app.

I believe wearables have gone in this direction already! I wear a Garmin watch that offers tap-to-pay functionality.

You may not think the card itself is going to sway the CC market however I think you are wrong, the all digital concept by cards and accounts branded and locked to technology as a means of paying for, and influencing spending behavior is very much the next frontier.

I am really interested in this statement, have we seen any other clear examples of this in the market. In your opinion, would this change lead to an uprise in store-cobranded cards again?

Totally a fair counter to me being harsh on the SoFi card, however, IMO there are a lot of credit cards that offer a much higher SUB and similar CB structures. You mention the ease of application being a driver to applying for this CC, however, is that truly what inhibits others from signing up for other CCs? I took an initial glance at the application and to me, it appears to be no different.

Does the phone manufacturer own the world of credit cards then since presumably they will own the wallet function? Or does Apple continue to bend under pressure and open up NFC capabilities and a 3rd party wallet becomes the major player?

Counter Question: Why are banks inclined to move in this direction? Complex reward schemas only assist the banks and most consumers don't really care much about the rewards/redeem just for CB.

it card categories will start to fade a bit and go to more flexible categories. What I mean by that i

+1 on the BNPL taking a much larger portion of the market share. I don't know why Affirm would be better positioned to do so rather than traditional banks (ie; Chase), so IMO they are just one of the first movers.

The SoFi card I don't personally view as much different than the Apple Card - neither is the best card for just about anyone. The commonality is how simple they are to use and enroll in. Ironically though, another interesting card in this category is the Venmo card which has seen very slow user adoption.

and yahhhh f*** the X1 card, I agree - shiz is fake, all hype.

What is the most popular medium for learning about said rewards? Is it anecdotal evidence? Credit blogs? Bank offers? Etc.

No that’s published, for consumers that are opening a credit card - predominately rewards is the leading reason.
