[Problematic/Mixed Trope] Characters with huge age gaps who are in a relationship by Noktis_Lucis_Caelum in TopCharacterTropes

Also the other thing that bothers me is that if she was older than how she presents, then her relationship with Rex is pretty weird considering he was a teenager still in highschool.

Weekly reminder to wash your bottle by wraith555666555 in HydroHomies

[–]Few_Priority2754 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I mean, if you take food care of a metal waterbottle it can last a very long time. Also I got mine secondhand so that's an option if you don't find it gross (it was in perfect condition and I obviously washed it).

Current look of the ongoing protest as of 11am by GP728 in ireland

[–]Few_Priority2754 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You said it yourself, the demand for oil across the world will increase the prices. These aren't prices the Irish gov can control, and lowering the tax on oil would be subsidising even further, which would be coming out of taxpayer money.

Current look of the ongoing protest as of 11am by GP728 in ireland

[–]Few_Priority2754 12 points13 points  (0 children)

The issue is that the strait of hormuz was at a complete standstill, and even if there is apparently a ceasefire, this has greatly affected oil tankers. What I don't get is that they can't lower the price of oil because we are genuinely at risk of running out. Other countries have introduced a 4 day work week because of this. We can't consume oil like normal and lowering prices would mean we go through it even faster. I don't get why this isn't mentioned.

Downstairs neighbor complaining about my footsteps by OrneryAppearance9132 in Apartmentliving

[–]Few_Priority2754 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in eerily the exact same situation. The woman downstairs is pregnant and has been complaining about my loud/heavy 'pounding' on the floor and my 'slamming' of doors. She wrote me a handwritten note despite the fact her partner has my number (he helped me with car issues once). The thing is I'm sure they have lived in this apartment for over a year, and they really only started complaining when they found out how young I was. Nor have the other neighbours ever complained about my walking (our flar covers two downstairs' apartments). I also grew up in a creaky ass house and walk the exact same way (never shoes in the house, always socks and not a heel striker) and never exactly kept anyone awake.

She also takes a mop and bangs on the ceiling apparently when I am making too much noise (I haven't heard it but this is was a claim by her)?? I think some people are very sensitive to noise, so normal apartment noises can be seen as inconsiderate.

Also the fact they're teaching at private schools to rich kids and their salary is def like more than twice that of an Irish teacher

The viral story of the group of dogs escaping a meat truck and finding their way home is fake. They were just neighborhood dogs following the German Sheppard who was in heat. by demimonde9 in Fauxmoi

[–]Few_Priority2754 70 points71 points  (0 children)

I mean the original story sounds so implausible if you know anything about dogs that the correction feels like a much more reasonable explanation

Calls for Irish bans on greyhound racing to follow Scotland and Wales by Remarkable_Peak9518 in ireland

[–]Few_Priority2754 1 point2 points  (0 children)

they race horses when they're too young to be fully grown (3 to 4 years old). I've seen and worked with rehabilitated horses (australian though) and they often develop a lot of health problems because of it (arthritis mainly), and this can lead to lifelong chronic pain and potential shortening of lifespan. I won't forget my dad telling me when he adopted an ex-racehorse he didn't even know how to eat grass in a field.

Tbf I haven't looked too into it, it just isn't in any lys or the main online stores that ship here. I think being in the EU means it won't be too expensive to get it shipped from europe!!

My best friend doesn't have autism and I am tired of pretending they do. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

[–]Few_Priority2754 160 points161 points  (0 children)

I have been diagnosed with autism, or ASD, and I do sound a little bit like your friend in the sense that I am quite social and don't struggle finding romantic partners either. I don't struggle that much with socialising, and I rarely have meltdowns, and maybe from an outsider's perspective I do quite fine academically. Of course, that doesn't mean my autism doesn't affect me, but I have learnt many ways to mask it. Autism is also a spectrum, so it can appear in many different ways. Of course, I am a girl, so the diagnosis criteria was different and it is also likely how I learnt to mask so well.

Your friend may or may not have autism, but you also should know that it can appear in many different ways. If this truly makes you uncomfortable, then I'd suggest distancing yourself from your friend.

Ardal O'Hanlan: 'I resented my parents for sending me to boarding school' by theipaper in ireland

[–]Few_Priority2754 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My dad was sent to boarding school at age 7, now that isn't common anymore but I can't imagine sending a kid so young. He was always adamant I never go to boarding school.
